Pokemon Go announced their new season GO Battle League: HIdden Gems. With this we saw a ton of move updates including buffs to walrein, dunsparce, alolan sandslash, clefable, emolga, and others with a nerf to trevenant.
This week is great league and great league remix. The difference is great league remix bans 20 pokemon including main staples of great league like noctowl, lanturn, medicham, sableye, and more. (banned pokemon)

Wow- this remix cup sucks. Its one thing to ban a few of the meta defining pokemon, but to ban TWENTY of them? I'm not building up some random jank team for a short RGL league and I'm probably not the only one who sees this list, sees their roster and says "So you're telling me that I'm banned?" Just banning Noctowl, Lanturn and Registeel would turn the clock back on the OGL meta by 2 years. Banning all 20 of these mons just screams "Build something new! Oh, you haven't caught anything PVP viable with good IVs this year that you have the stuff on hand to build? Too bad! This cup isn't for you!" This is simply too many bans to function as a remix league- this is going to play as Catch Cup Great League 2023
With Lanturn gone I’m really thinking about running Rotom Wash. But I really wish he had Surf. He is a bit glassy 134 Stamina but a 204 Attack is nice. Plus 🌶️ 💕
I wish they would just ban xl instead (temporarily). Some of your teams include awesome IV, XLs, it seems to me, and I rarely have anything like that. I don't see why Azu, non-xl, must be banned. = I have DD, non-xl Azu, etc. I have literally none of the teams you suggested built, unfortunately.
Skarmory ban Is a joke. Cool mon but definitely not ban worth.
I'd try the Sirfetch'd team. I've been struggling forever (1-2 years) as I've done so many trades I've lost my mind trying to get one for Great League (GL). I've asked and bothered everyone I know for their G. Farfetch'd. It's not a high ranked one but who cares it qualifies for GL so good enough for me. It's definitely 1 of the top most annoying pkmn to obtain for this league. Even the research one has to be traded away in hopes the RNGesus grants you a good or better IV one. Tapu Fini and Cresselia are also the most annoying and expensive pkmn to trade for GL quaification as well. Make a lot of new friends and trade away your shiny for their Tapu/Cresselia.

I feel like pvpoke is not going to be reliable for this meta since carbink skews the results and we will not see much of it at all

Is there any dark except mandibuzz? Perhaps 3x ghost? But eh against normal meta? Perhaps ghost with no ghost attacks.
The ghost trevenant tree sounds very good. Anti fighting anti water.
Is cresselia worth investing in? I don’t even have one yet.
Looks like Toxicrock will be very useful in this meta! Time to get my Swagman certified one out for a run! Lol hmmm… I think Pidgeot… but I can not see what my 3er could be!?

what would you recommend between shadow and normal golbat? shadow is much higher ranked on pvpoke but the normal version seems to have better matchups against the meta
Carbink seems like p2w if you can only get it rn through purchased special research
I think Ferrothorn and Tentacruel will be good anti meta picks.

I’m anticipating a lot of machamps, vigs, and charmers.
ik u intentionally avoided getting into carbink, but i just wanna say ive been hoarding rare candies and for weeks and i just powered it up to 1400. not enough candies for 2nd charge move yet unfortunately but i cant wait to unleash it in this cup

I stole the Golbat, Dewgong and Sirfetch'd team and went 4-1, 5-0, 4-1, 3-2 and 4-1. Granted I'm only in the 2200s, but it was a lot of fun! And some of the games I lost was because I'm bad and just threw with dumb mistakes lol

sad i wanna do aurorus for great league, but no worth invest bad iv one.. just reason we soon are getting fossil event where aurorus is regular wild spawn. prob get good iv during that event. sad 🙁
Scrafty Cresselia gMoltres has been a very good team for me in this meta. caught the galarian bird during the winter but barely used it since it doesn't really fit the open GL meta imo. in this cup it can do so much as closer.
