HOW DO I KILL THIS GIOVANNI DUDE?

I only go Persian to half health with this team, I know this is like more type effective but I have Pokemon up to my 2490 CP snorlax. I don’t know how to defeat him, is there a way to defeat him with Pokémon that are like 800-2500 CP? I have the pokemon a typical level 25 would (I think.).

  1. It’s very hard if your pokemon aren’t maxed out. I’ve beaten his Persian with a Machoke

  2. You need higher level pokemon. I barely beat him with pokemon in the 2500-3000cp.

Tbh Giovanni is tough. It’s gonna take a ton of leveling up your pokemon to beat him.

Not sure what moves his Persian has, but maybe try finding a pokemon that has fighting type moves and is resistant to persian’s attacks if machoke isn’t.

Last time I fought Giovanni his last pokemon was regirock, not sure if that’s still up to date but if so you’ll need either another fighting type or a grass, steel or water type. I think the middle pokemon swaps between a few.

Edit: ground is also good against rock.

  4. My team to take him out is roseerade, tyranitar, and machamp

I had terrakion, gardevoir, and machamp. Theyre all minimum 2500+ though.

My strategy is to use mons that are super effective with the fastest ready charged attacks first. That way the shields get used up and regirock can take the full force of machamp.

You can also switch out your pokemon when he starts attacking/taking too much health, this will make the computer take a sec to start attacking again. This overall gives you more time to attack and charge your attacks

Bru with those pokemon you are never going to win

Start by having atleast 2 of your Pokémon over 2k cp..

Bro thinks he in the manga

Use ultra-fast charge-up movesets and utilize swaps to minimize attacks received.

I suggest taking advantage of the upcoming Riolu hatch day. Hatch a good Riolu, teach it a second move (it’s much cheaper to do so whilst it’s still a Riolu) and then evolve it to Lucario. You want your Lucario to know Counter/Power Up Punch/Aura Sphere. Put it in your Giovanni team as your second or third Pokémon (so start the battle with something else, my choice would be a Swampert with Mud Shot/Hydro Cannon/Muddy Water if you have one handy) and then immediately switch to your Lucario. Every time you or Giovanni send in a different Pokémon or use a charged move, Giovanni will be unable to move for a couple of seconds, allowing you to attack him freely. Use Power Up Punches to take out his shields and Lucario should be able to take down Persian easily. Your Swampert should be able to deal with the rest of his team if you have one.

You have to find the PokeGun, then try and sneak up on him at a stop.

Bro you can just defeat his team, no need to commit homicide

    I beat him with a 1600 cp shaymin, a 2000 cp excadrill and a 1.5k machamp

The way I did was I used shaymin first to get some power for it’s charged attack bc I was having a issue with that when it came to beat his regirock. I was also having an issue where the Persian did too much damage too fast to my machamp so I used that thing where bots don’t attack for a little bit after the opponent swaps or uses a charged attack. I got shaymin 3 hits off then I swapped to machamp who knocked out Persian and one of giovannis shield. Then machamp got knocked out where I used excadrill to weaken the 2nd pokemon enough and wasting his last shield for shaymin to finish it off then a single seed flare to take out regirock.

That is how I beat giovanni at level 23

First idea that comes to mind is stabbing him to death

It depends on power and the moves your pokemon have. Try to have a 3 bars charge move on your first pokemon so you can deplete his shields fast. Charge moves are the key to winning these battles and the faster you deplete his shield the easier the battle becomes. Make sure all your moves are super effective and try to select pokemon that are resistant to the moves the opponent uses.

What i like to is stun lock him, get a pokemon that builds up their charge attack quickly and just keep spamming charge attack

Lucario in the second slot. Power up punch + aura sphere. Swap to Lucario immediately. PuP charges fast and every charge move gives you three Counters before they attack again. Goal is to burn his shields quickly. Then it’s a matter of having additional counters in the back. There’s a Riolu hatch day soon – I’d prepare for that.

Get a lucario. I use only lucario against Giovanni

Battle his pokémon, don’t try to kill him

  21. He will shield your first two charged attacks, so start with something that can spam charged attacks and save your hard hitters for when he doesn’t have shields anymore. Good luck! It’s okay to try a couple of times. You can use the first run to scout his Pokemon. Who did he bring and how can you beat them? Then bring that party and boom

Lucario with counter and power up punch is a good lead. It’s super effective to Persian and ramps up its own attack while taking shields. The riolu egg day is coming up.

Also poliwrath would be good and it’s community day is coming up as well. Either mud shot or the community counter will be helpful and all it’s moves are pretty decent.

Melmetal is a good choice as well if you have access to Pokémon home.

Ideally you need Pokémon with fast charging fast attacks and low energy charged attacks. Counter is the best fast attack out there.
Mud shot and thunder shock charge very quickly, but don’t do a ton of damage. Find Pokémon that have those moves.

Besides that you will have to level people up to that 2500+ range. It can be done for less, but takes planning. There might be some videos of people using 1500 teams to beat him you can search on here.

    Good luck!

Pump your Pokémon, invest of them. Get them at least into 2000 CP. range

Update: I tried again, this time with higher CP Pokémon. I used CP1382 Toxicroak, CP1405 Breloom and CP2130 Blastoise. Toxicroak got Persian to half health and Breloom finished it off but died something like instantly to Nidoking. Blastoise killed it, being at red health himself while also pulling off a Flash Cannon. Died to 3/5hp Regirock.

Also thank you if you gave advice!

That’s crazy because my gf just uses the suggested pokemon and she somehow wins at times with most random cp and I’m level 41 with chosen pkmons and still struggle sometimes
