Pokemon Go announced their new season GO Battle League: HIdden Gems. With this we saw a ton of move updates including buffs to walrein, dunsparce, alolan sandslash, clefable, emolga, and others with a nerf to trevenant.
This week is great league and fossil cup. Fossil Cup is a 1500CP league with only rock, water, and steel typings.

What's the best partner for Swampert and Ferrothorn?

Honestly, I'll give it a go with registeel, swampert and gFisk, but I am not building a comp for this.
Magcargo pretty much the only counter to Escav
I have a lot of these built so i may play and see if it can be more productive than retro for gaining elo

I enjoyed the fossil cup last year looking forward to playing it again
i was looking thru csv's and mawile acc has great scores among the top meta threats. lucario obviously is better since theres resistance to counter in this meta, but mawile for some spice could be really strong im looking to run it on a team or two
Open gl for me. Im always missing at least one pokemon from every suggested team for Fossil

Wasn't it fossil cup last time that was dominated by a team consisting of lucario, water gun lapras and something else (cant remember what the 3rd was), or was that another cup?
Gotta thank you for the Registeel team; I’m using my shadow version as it’s all I’ve got but it managed to get me a 5:0 first set with it. The Lucario team is doing bits as well so really appreciate the ideas!

How would you play Registeel Jellicent Ludicolo vs Lucario Ferrothorn S. Swampert? I switched to Jellicent they switch to Ferrothorn. Play for switch or shield advantage?
Ace level. I got a really good shadow mawile so I'm running Tho's team fun last year with a lot of success. Shadow mawile, quagmire, Cradily.
Looking through my shadows with poison and I'm trying to build a double shadow team. I might try shadow Alolan dugtrio on a team
I've been running swampert in the lead, and lucario with stunfisk in the back. Wish I had ferothorn. If I did it would replce stunfisk. But I've been winning a lot of games with this team if anyone wants to try it.
Having fun with a super spicy Fire Fang Mawile up front. Resists fighters and punishes Ferrothorn and Lucario. Play Rough for Pelipper and others who’d otherwise resist. If they start with a Mudboi, I bring out Cradily who can usually hold his own against most, and if they bring out anything else, it’s Shadow Swampert. And yeah, not Iron Head, but PuP, because there’s no enough rock types in the meta for IH, and most expect it, letting Play Rough through, but I can get a few PuPs on Fire Fang before getting put down.
I ran jellicent/ferrathorn/G stunfisk today and absolutely crushed my last 2 sets. Just randomly tried it and absolutely dominated. Gunna run it again tomorrow to see how it performs
I’m running this cup and already up 180 ELO. Running ABB: Basty (I know a weak rock) Ludicolo, and Jellicent. Basically I only hard loose starting match up to the mud boys and in that case I safe swap to Jellicent to hold my grass to clean up. I hard punish anyone who try’s to save shields because the only spammy move I have access to is surf.

Well, 5-0 just now running Fire Fang Mawile lead with PuP, Jelicent, and Cradily, with a 4-1 run behind that. Everyone’s leading with either Ferrothorn or Lucario and Mawile just WRECKS them, forcing the swap, usually into a mudboi
Can i run flash cannon on my registeel instead of zap cannon? I don't know if it will be worth using an elite TM
