Pokemon Go announced their new season GO Battle League: HIdden Gems. With this we saw a ton of move updates including buffs to walrein, dunsparce, alolan sandslash, clefable, emolga, and others with a nerf to trevenant.
This week is ultra league and fossil cup. Fossil Cup is a 1500CP league with only rock, water, and steel typings. I have already gone over the top teams for great league including top 20 pokemon based on pvpoke ranking.
In this video we take a look at the top 20 pokemon for ultra league and 5 team ideas of the best (top) ultra league teams from this season of Go Battle League.

I built a best buddy sheep to play with in UL. Hopefully get to use it to climb out of the 2400 purgatory. What would you recommend running it with?

good team suggestions. My favorite mon in UL is Galvantula it's so underrated i hit legend with galvantula last season and i will try again.
Do you prefer shadow or none shadow for ultr? I have a rank 20 none shadow. I have a #200 ultra that im using in great league until i find a none shadow gl. Should i just keep my shadow in gl and get a none shadow ultra?
Would a none shadow dragonite work or does he not pack enough punch for lack of bulk?
There's only 1 route un all of centretown.. ive done it 3 tines now and zero cells
Great league, but I've been having a lot of fun with a bullet seed jumpluff lead, shadow swamp with sludge wave and frosslass
If you have no one to raid with and can’t afford passes ultra and master league are just impossible to get into. Can’t farm candies or TMs and legendaries rule a lot of the meta. Sucks for people like me.
I like walrain. Also have tapu. As electric doesn't exist. Perhaps tapu lead walrain safe swap.
Both weak to grass. But against major grass I have ice and fairy as coverage.

Any good replacements for Lurantis on team 3? I didn't manage to grind enough XL in the recent event it featured in. And do you BB boost Pidgeot or Umbreon in that team?

Dan! As usual, great video! I think the thing that makes your videos so great is that the Pokemon you profile aren't unobtainable. I guess what I mean is that when I see the teams you build, I can see that I have most all those Pokemon. I finally finished building my Rank 4 UL Shadow Alolan Nineties and think I will try out one or two of the teams you suggest with it. It cost me a lot of Stardust, but I think it might pay off. I'd like to finally hit expert.

Welp, ultra league is broken. Tapu fini, cresselia, Giratina, etc all rendered absolute garbage by overloaded XL teams
I run Swampert double charm (Togekiss, Sylveon) mainly because I don't have XLs to build many of the top tier pokemons but also because of how many dragons/darks/fighters are in top spots.
