Pokemon Go

Why are few gyms larger compared to other

1) The usual size of the gyms that I mostly see
2) The large gym

Genetics. Size doesn’t matter tho it’s about how you protect it 😉

  2. Could be wrong but I always thought larger gyms meant they were at max capacity and could no longer take new Pokémon.

I thought it had something to do with the max Cp the gym could hold?

I saw 2 like that too and I thought they were just charged, from scanning.

Gyms in my area are large like this when defending Pokemon are fully healed by berries and shrink over time as CP decreases

If the total cp of all the Pokemon in a gym crosses 8000, it becomes a ‘tower/tree’. The one in the second pic.

If the total cp of all the Pokemon in a gym is below 5000, it’s a ‘bud’. The first pic.

If the total cp of all the Pokemon in a gym crosses 5000 but below 8000, it becomes a ‘flower’. It’s the intermediate stage not shown here.

I think I may be wrong for the correct cp required for the flower stage. It may be 4000 or 6000, I don’t remember because I’ve left gymming hard.

I always thought it was a measure of the gym’s total strength. 6 Pokémon at full health will be the larger gym, the smaller gyms either have less Pokémon or they are all low in health

Yeah it’s weird, although I’ve seen a pattern

Gyms with Pokémon that actually try to defend are the taller ones

Gyms with usually throwaway Pokémon are the short ones

It’s just really cold in that area.

The bigger the total amount of CP in the Gym the bigger the Gym gets
