In all seriousness…how does one walk a negative distance?
I’m not coordinated enough to walk backwards, so it’s definitely not that….

You might have been rewarded two candy instead of one the last time your buddy found a candy. It will then go into a negative distance after. Another great niantic mechanic

It awarded you a candy and then afterward decided you hadn’t walked far enough yet. So it subtracted the distance you still needed to walk to earn the previous candy.
