Pokemon Go announced their new season GO Battle League: HIdden Gems. With this we saw a ton of move updates including buffs to walrein, dunsparce, alolan sandslash, clefable, emolga, and others with a nerf to trevenant.

This week is ultra league and fossil cup. Fossil Cup is a 1500CP league with only rock, water, and steel typings. I have already gone over the top teams for great league including top 20 pokemon based on pvpoke ranking.

As we just had a full week of great league fossil cup, I have decided to make my own tierlist having played with the majority of viable pokemon. I will go over the top best pokemon for fossil cup.

    I've been using Araquanid with some good success. It is actually really helpful for handling a lot of these guys–especially the mud boys.

    Poliwrath will probably make an impact on the meta once it gets counter. I expect the fossil cup to change quite a bit then

    Poliwrath is gonna wreck everything once it gets Counter. I might take a rest, this meta seems way too RSP to me.

    I tried out sudowoodo last night and it was a fun spice pick. Actually went positive with ferrothorn and pelliper backing it up.

    Just finished a 18-0 streak with the Regi Ludicolo Jellicent team you made earlier in this cup it’s been doing me wonders

    These hyper limited cups suck.. I just got into GBL like 1 month ago, and I've been having a BLAST in the Great League

    But I log in today, and see its now Ultra + Fossil… like ….? So like I basically can't play. Dropped 200 elo because I don't happen to have a fossil team by chance and I can't afford to make Ultra league pokes

    I have a Pelipper and a Quag built already. Don’t have any Feerothorns worth building.

    What would you/anyone suggest as a possible 3rd? Or would you just suggest building a subpar Ferrothorn for this week? I have the dust/candy to spare.

    Great video. I didn't want to build a Ferro for great league (forgetting it was two weeks) so I subbed Ludi on your double grass team and had success. I think mostly because people aren't prepared for a double grass team (so shadow mawile, Ludicolo, Cradily)

    I undersand what you said about relevance im some picks. But i prefer run anti-meta, like mawile and lanturn, and something neutral tô balance, like pelliper or ferrathorn

    I’ve been have pretty good success with Togedemaru. It does decent into Pelipper, Jellicent, Ludicolo, Lanturn, and not terrible into Ferrothorn. For being glassy, in lot of situations it lives 1 charged move like a Shadow Ball from Jelli and get to 2 moves.

    Love the video and the insight. You're on point on 95% imo. You should either use or remove the c and d tiers though. Keep making awesome videos

    I don't think XL pokemon are needed for the UL. I've seen loads of people running Charizard, Swampert & Walrein. I've been using an all legendary (non-XL) team and had some success (over 300 elo in 4 days). XLs are more important for Great League.
