eventually depends on the Appraisal screen, but Mega Ampharos can always do a good job when needed

It’s not bad as a mega Electric type, you do need the 200 initial mega energy for it though.
Currently Mega Ampharos is not in raids to earn the energy, but you can find the “Power up 10 times” for 25 Mega Ampharos energy.
This research task can be found at PokeStops, which give out research. This research changes every 24 hours, so if you have a local community, you can ask them to keep an eye on this task and notify you if they find it. Otherwise you need to get lucky, to find 8 of these tasks at least.
As with any Pokemon in GO, only power it up once you actually need it.
