Some companies create Xenoblade games in 4 years, and some companies are Pokemon companies

Wow this looks terrible

5 years of dev time + a delay and **THIS** is the outcome of that? That’s a bit pathetic honestly. Looks like an HD 3DS

I was actually fully ready to be kinda excited for a sequel of this…
…and then I saw how it looks…
PapaProto
What… happened?

It looks like one guy made this in a couple years. I just don’t get why they don’t have any talent working on Pokemon games.

Reminder that this console (Switch) can run The Witcher 3 and just received the next-gen patch a few weeks ago. This trailer is just sad.

I actually was pretty interested in this but this is definitely a strange looking title and at htis point what is the excuse , i’ve seen enough decent examples of humans that stylistically fit next to pokemon in my lifetime but that is not happening here.
ToxicVampire
Hmm never played the first and was curious on this one, but judging by the comments maybe I shouldn’t be.

This was definitely a “We need to capitalize on the movie” decision, and its about 4 years too late. I’m pretty sure there isn’t even going to be another movie anymore either.

On top of this, pre orders for the Japanese version get a very cool promo card while pre orders for the English version get… nothing!

Man, I love Detective Pikachu movie, but there is no way in hell I get this, with the game looking this terrible.

It looks Scarlet/Violet-like. I think it’s the poor lighting and the overly bright grass and foliage that really nails it down for me. And it’s particularly noticeable in outside scenes; inconsistent as well.
At 1:18 that grass looks horrible but transition to 1:49 and it looks fine?
At 1:01 the tree straight up looks bioluminescent, but the one in the background at 1:10 appears natural.
The characters’ and pokémon models however, look top-notch as always.

The lighting looks worse than Scarlet and Violet in some spots, and this isn’t an open world game either. I don’t know what happened

That looks like a DS game
fantasticbaby69
Loons like a good ps2 game

To say something positive, the frame rate looks a bit better in the tiny bits of gameplay they showed.
Bit higher than 5fps anyway.
TheBatSignal
It looks unbelievably god awful but I know it will sell like crazy because Pokemon fans are worse than Disney adults.
BODHIZENPEACE
Is this a new game or a port

Lotta hate for this title but if the game play and story is good then I have no issues. Will be buying when it comes out.

Was this originally a phone game? I’m confused.

As expected, looks like shit

You know Detective Pikachu is in many ways what I want Pokémon to do more of. Something more story driven, fully voice acted and something out of the box for the Pokémon universe by virtue of you not being a trainer.
But why has it apparently been on such a shoestring budget? It takes half a decade to get out and it’s visuals haven’t improved. For all the crap the machine gens got this generation, I did at least point to something in terms of graphical improvements. DP though, by virtue of nothing improving over five years, gives the impression that it’s budget went down in real terms. You would think they wouldn’t neglect a spin off that literally got a Hollywood movie based off it.

I mean, it looks worlds better than S/V to be fair…
Outside_Narwhal_5127
This is one of, if not the least appealing games I’ve ever seen.

2010 computer game graphics. yikes

TPC was proud to present THIS? I’ve seen GameCube games with better presentation and animation.
PurplePikminPleasure
I usually do spin-offs of Pokémon even tho I’ve boycotted the mainline games… gonna pass on this one
