I’ve used charged attacks in both Pvp league and in Rocket grunt fights and it hasn’t counted. Anyone know what’s up?

They may need to be super effective? Or they may need to be in gyms/raids? I can’t remember.
It worked for me against Grunts, raid and PvP
That one counts up for me but the defeat go rocket grunts doesn’t 🙃
Seem to have to be super effective. I just did trainer battles to raise that task because of the guaranteed super effective moves

I had some trouble too… went into battle with Machamp, Stunfisk,and Raikou 6 or 7 times and eventually got them, but there was no consistent reason for getting rewarded or not. Totally random.

I find the easiest way to get this is to battle the trainer Candela with a poliwrath.
I had to do battles under where bag and pokemon are in order to complete that
i had to do one charged attack per raid. sucks
The first fight I used 4 and it said 4, the fight I used a bunch but it still said 4, then today I fought a grunt and used it once and the quest popped up to say it’s complete
Mine only worked if they actually hit. If it was shielded it didn’t count. Even when it did count it was like 20% of the time?
I competed it just fine, no glitch for me

Wasn’t working for me either… found they need to be super effective charged attacks. Didn’t matter if my opponent had a shield or not. Good luck!
It took me over 25 charged attacks to get to the 5. Didn’t pay attention to whether or not the ones that actually got counted were super effective or not though

I think it counts if you fight with the trainers
I only saw it move when I hit it with super effective attacks.
oh shit i just noticed mine hasn’t been counting my charged attacks either wtf
for me it only counted attacks that weren’t shielded I think and even then some attacks wont register

Do that 1 in raids, it’s your best bet to complete. It’s definitely no glitch famz.
It is either a stupid glitch or they should have worded it different. I admit that did frustrate me at first as well.
Sounds like everyone told you the trick/ requirement (needs to be a super effective attack) but I agree cmon Niantic be better next time.
