I’d say you can do two things:
– when a rare mon like larvesta comes out and you get it, invest everything to evolve it (like i did when goomy was released and i got a 3*)
– invest them in your best mons while keeping some of them in case you had almost enough to do something

If I have a 4* legendary, I use it on them, I just dumped 150 candy’s into mewtwo for when my wife and I get lucky friends we can trade our mewtwo’s and power it up. My advice is to pick your favorite high 3* or 4* legendary and go to town powering it up.
