Normally I’d force myself to think of a theme for this but really I just wanted to show these duos for their own reasons. I know it’s not for everyone but the creative ways stages can be beat is one of the main reasons why I enjoy Gauntlet (and, subsequently, why Moltres and needing eternal flinches make me enjoy this rotation less lol).
(And no, I don’t have any Moltres duos to share since most if not all of them boil down to being flinch checks anyway. All of the duos I did for the stage were pretty much taken elsewhere lol I am nowhere near innovative enough to teambuild for such an obnoxious stage.)
Here’s how each battle went and the sync grids used:
Vs. Uxie: EX Anniversary N / Clay – https://ng-pomatools.web.app/team?v0=003300053700&s0=5&l0=140&r0=3&p0=0&a0=21010101&t0=44111&g0=AAECAwQFBgcICgwPERIVGB0fIyUnKCst&v1=008901064300&s1=3&l1=140&r1=5&p1=0&a1=21010101&t1=44444&g1=AAECAwQFBgcKDRARHR8gIS8&v2=0
Uxie might be hard to teambuild for but one thing that makes the stage easier than the other two in this rotation is how it doesn’t really do much damage for a majority of the stage. Almost all of its hard-hitting 3-gauge moves are in the second half of each bar, and if you have a good sync nuker, you can end up not seeing any of them at all (except Giga Drain lol).
I take advantage of that here, where I get away with having no healing through Anni N’s debuffs and Clay’s three Endures. Clay also helps with the multiplier for N’s first sync and activates his master passive.
Vs. Latias: EX Summer Marnie / Darach – https://ng-pomatools.web.app/team?v0=015900039800&s0=5&l0=140&r0=5&p0=0&a0=21010101&t0=44444&g0=AAECAwQFFRYZHSAjJSkqLQ&v1=024501086100&s1=3&l1=140&r1=5&p1=0&a1=21010101&t1=44444&g1=AAECAwQFBgcKHSAiIyUpLC8&v2=0
One thing I learned in teambuilding for Latias in this rotation was paying attention to which units cover which side of the damage spectrum. Several clears paired an Attack debuffer with an Sp Atk debuffer, or equivalent supports that only buffed Def or Sp Def.
Summarnie is an interesting case since while she debuffs Sp Atk, she can buff up both of her defenses on her own. But she still appreciates the Attack debuffs so that she can tank the Bar 3 Earthquake without worry. She gets that from Darach, who has the added bonus of debuffing evasion so Marnie doesn’t have to worry about it later on. While this faces gauge issues, all the debuffs mean that Marnie can tank a lot of hits better than most supports lol.
Vs. Uxie: EX Colress / EX Lodge Morty – https://ng-pomatools.web.app/team?v0=014800009200&s0=3&l0=140&r0=4&p0=0&a0=21010101&t0=44444&g0=AAECAwQFBggLDQ4aGx0gIyQsLg&v1=019100060100&s1=4&l1=140&r1=5&p1=0&a1=18040602&t1=44444&g1=AAECAwQFGBkdICIjJSkv&v2=0
I wish more units had passives like Infliction Freebie hahaha it’s such a funny way to rush to sync. Future Sprint units take notes!
Colress rushing to sync here isn’t just for fun though – it lets me control when to use Morty’s Ominous Wind since, as that’s his only damaging move, it’s the only way he can induce confusion with Flabbergast 4. While this does depend on Morty dodging several moves, he does have some sustain tiles to help out.
Vs. Latias: EX Diantha / Regirock – https://ng-pomatools.web.app/team?v0=900000037700&s0=1&l0=140&r0=5&p0=0&a0=21010101&t0=41&g0=AAECAwQFBgcICQoMERITFBobHB0eICUmJyg&v1=015800028200&s1=4&l1=140&r1=5&p1=0&a1=21010101&t1=44411&g1=AAECAwQFDx8oKy0uLzEzNA&v2=0
This is definitely less stressful than any of the above clears but I mainly wanted to show this because I finally gave in and candied Diantha hahaha. Both of her 4/5 tiles are great in making her more self-sufficient.
I paired her with Regirock since it could give her Defense buffs, but I ended up needing to use both TMs on itself since it was taking too much damage. Thankfully Diantha was able to tank the entire stage without any healing.

That Colress clear was so strategic I like it 👏🏻
