I was just on a walk before it gets to be boiling, and I freaked out because I finally got my first bird to pop up since I got my masterball. I threw my masterball only for it to freeze at the top of my screen to spin to a stop then kick me out saying “pokemon not found” and taking my master ball away. I had 2 minutes on my incense left, standing completely still, and didn’t move out of the app at all. It just took my masterball and errored out of existence. It’s not even funny sad, it’s just upsetting. This is my favorite bird.

I would contact niantic! Show them the screenshots on the chat and explain that you used the ball on the articuno and it glitched and now it took you ball and the Mon. They should at least give you back your masterball!
I’d still rather have this happen than be one of those kids who use it on a bidoof for the sole reason of points on Reddit lmfao

Had the same thing happen to me. I started panicking cause the master ball was gone but it appeared in my inventory the next day
This is exactly why I barely play anymore, games always messing up. U context support and they give u a raid pass, lol

Question about the masterball bc I haven’t used it yet. What happens if you miss the throw? Or is it impossible to miss?

Similar thing was posted a while back. If you clicked on a pokemon from the daily incense and the timer ends the pokemon despawns instantly even if you keep them on the screen for seconds after it ends. This is one reason why I’ll never use my master ball on lure or incense if it’s under 30 seconds.
Source, it’s happened to me during a community day.
On the ralts community day with only a few seconds left in the event I clicked on a ralts, it popped up as shiny and I caught it about 20 seconds after the event ended. It turned into a normal pidgey. I wasn’t upset because it was like the 9th one of the day. Learned something new.
Next community day I’ll try to recreate this as long as I’ve caught my minimum 4 shines.
Why won’t they just give us more oppurtunities to earn a masterball? Or just sell it in the store?

Same thing happened to me twice. If you close the app and restart the master ball should show in you ur inventory.

I’ve heard of this happening. Others have had their masterball reappear in their inventory. Maybe yours will, too?
Contact Niantic. Sometimes they help and will restore your masterball
I have visions of throwing my master ball, only to have the poke dodge it or bat it aside.
Talk to Niantic support, I bet this is fixable.
I managed to get my first ever galar moltres first try with an ultra ball. Probably won’t ever happen again and I will be in eternal anguish
Based on how the catch rates are calculated in the main series games, there is an astronomically unlikely chance the Master Ball can fail. I’ve always wondered if PoGo uses the same equation for catches.
Does anyone know if you can transfer the Pokémon you caught in the master ball? If not Niantic should be able to verify a glitch happened because it has to be somewhere right?

I cannot edit my post, but I got a response back on my ticket and they gave the my masterball back! Hopefully I can get a bird soon, just thankful I got the ball back.
