Pokemon Go announced their new season GO Battle League: HIdden Gems. With this we saw a ton of move updates including buffs to walrein, dunsparce, alolan sandslash, clefable, emolga, and others with a nerf to trevenant.
This week is great league, ultra league, and master league.
Venusaur was so strong for so long but then between flyers and being outbulked, it has gone away. With water being so dominant in this meta, venusaur should make a comeback.

"Fire is really weak on this meta" proves it by using a team fully weak to fire
I tried out Jonkus’s spammy team of Ariados, greninja, and quagsire (he used politoad but I found this worked better) and I honestly think Ariados is super slept on too for a lot of the same reasons as venusaur. You lose to fliers, but there aren’t a lot of fire in the meta. I saw so many teams that were ABA or even triple weak to Ariados with it doing well against umbreon, Deoxys, Medicham, charmers, grass, greninja, etc
What’s better to build: a non shadow Sandslash with great IV, or shadow with poor IV?
a grass pokemon that ive been climbing with is jumpluff, its been a great safe swap and closer. a lot of people are starting to sneak venasaur and trev back into the meta and jumpluff beats those in the even-shield matchups.
same wins as venasaur but i like the typing more and its way more bulky. rarely needs shields
Venu been giving me some trouble, depending on team obviously, so yeah, I get it. Also, agreed, definitely gotta respect that shadow Swampert earthquake. Oof. I took a massive hit once thinking my tanky mon could shake it off. Not quite… Survived, but farm down range only.
This was a great suggestion!! Ran gfisk lead, shadow ASlash and venusaur and went on an easy 8-2 tear. Thanks for the tip!

Should have watched this before battling today. Been running Medicham/Sableye/Swampert. Had to change to Gfisk/Sableye/Skarmory
