Me and two friends were playing when we came across this Oranguru. We all shiny checked and not only got it shiny. But, with the same PC and IVs. The only differences are weight and height.

If you all are over 30 then cp will be the same but shiny isn’t the same though , neither are IVs
If your trainer levels are over 30 then all IVs will be the same. Shiny is just super lucky and random.
CP and IVs will be the same if you’re all at or above level 30 as others have said. Shiny rate for Go Fest based on data from previous years seems to be about 1/64 – 1/128. Even if we assume it’s a bit more generous along the lines of 1/50, the odds of all 3 of you getting the exact same shiny is 0.000008 or 1 in 125,000. So, pretty “lucky” in terms of this outcome actually occurring. Hopefully you all bought lottery tickets, though the shinies are far more likely than actually winning the lottery.
Haha nice!! I just experienced that same thing on Day 1 of GoFest. But ours (girlfriend and fellow Go Player) was a Girafarig and it’s CP was 666. It was such an awesome moment!
Bro all day me and my friend had the SAME EXACT SPAWNS. Not even randomly, every emcounter same cp..
WTF???? Niantic is sus
The odds of 3 of you getting the shiny are the same as the odds of one of you getting a shiny as they are mutually exclusive events, like coin tosses (Probability theory 101)
Based on the comments, a surprising amount of people in this sub dont realize that all pokemon spawn with the same cp over level 30
I noticed the spawns for this go fest wasn’t 100% random. For example, my main and my alt had the exact same spawns with INCENSE. It’s supposed to be unique per account. But my friends account did not have the same spawns with his incense.
So knowing that, I’d assume there’s some kinks to Niantic’s code
Los oranguru variocolor trillizos no pueden hacerte daño…
My theory is that Niantic knows you three are playing together and has these events setup in place in an attempt to form positively associated bonding moments with this game and group of friends.
I think in 2019 there was a thing where sometimes when trainers had the exact same level, their shiny odds were identical, which can lead to exactly this.
Specificly 2019 because it was the first time i experienced this myself, as a scyther i found was shiny, while friend who had the exact same level also got the shiny
Interesting
