It will be released at some point, but I am not sure if it will be this close. I mean, Niantic barely touch Galar region pokemons, so the next step would be explore Galar a bit more I guess.
Edit: I really hope this pokemon will not be something that you get “ready to use”. I have perfectly fine Pikachus that can not be evolved to Alola region form for some reason, and I also have a very nice Primeape (98%) that I really want to evolve it.

Worth noting that we have the following Spotlight hours in September: Wooper, Girafarig, and Mankey. Likely not going to correspond with those spotlight hours, but may be there to prep us for those evolutions.

There are wooper, Mankey, and Girafarig spotlight hours comming up in Sept. Bisharp also in GBL reward pool this season. So I feel like it’s safe to assume all of those will come in the near future.

I didn’t know paldea was coming till 10 min ago. But 2 hour ago I caught Primape and thought well i could save candy for Annihilape when he comes.

Could see it as a Halloween thing in a couple months, but I doubt it’ll be released straight away

More than anything, I feel like the new evos are likely to be some of the first ones added following the initial batch next month. They made haste with most of the crossgen evos from the Gen VIII games, even if the only ones unrelated to regional forms were all from Hisui.

Imagine what lil twist you have to do first to evolve it like let’s say battle 10 grunts/pvp/gym battles with a Primape and let it die, right? Like Inky to Malamar.
