They really shouldn’t count Green Mario as a separate character.

Even if they’re only cosmetic changes (outside of easy mode choices) I’m glad they put in the effort to add so many characters! Always love to have more variety when it comes to character choice.
As a Yoshi fan, I’m a little disappointed that Yoshi is relegated to an “easy” character, but still cool they are playable standalone.
I wish you could play as bowser too! Maybe one day…
I’m really hoping peach has her staple floating ability. Doesn’t seem like it :/
No confirmation on who’s replacing Charles, but it’s nice to know Deanna and Sam finally got to record new lines for a mainline Mario game. Good for them. … Still weird they just have Blue, Yellow, and -ette Toads, but not THE Toad.
3 toads and 4 yoshis is a bit shit… Why not use some of the actual plethora of characters they have? Not even Wario? Waluigi?
Why play as Nabbit when Yoshi has all the same benefits and draw backs, but can flutter jump and eat enemies? You want the game to be easier but not to easy?

Let’s just throw a couple of asterisks in there…
Even with the repetition, this is a big step up from past games. You can have a 4-player game where everybody can play an easier character, or where *nobody* has to play an easier character… something NSMBUDX didn’t let you do. And three gals playable from the start is kinda huge too. I wish it was an even 4 so that all four players could play as a lady, but still, that beats the previous record of “one, plus a second one after you roll the credits”.
We might not even have them all, as in 3d world there was an unlockable character
The extra Toad and Yoshi probably could have been colour options rather than trying to trick us that these are extra characters.
Finally I can play as Yellow Toad again!
No I’m serious. I always played as him back when in NSMB Wii.
i continue to think DK might be playable with an update, ever since we saw him in the movie doing platforms and Fire Flower. Would be a waste not to.
