Well thats a lame design when compared to the other OLED editions.

  2. Riomegon

i love the hidden coins idea that’s neat
but splatoon 3 switch oled for me is hard to top

It was nice they even made a special edition, but Mario fans really get the worst special editions. First they announced an edition with red joycon, then one with red joycon, dock, and blue grips, and now one that’s red but with decals you can’t even see. Would it have killed them to put the Mario icon and the coins on the front of the dock or on the console?

I don’t think many people dock the switch OLED and the dock is the only cool thing about it. The handheld is just all red even on the back, it’s very plain looking imo

I really wish they let us buy these special edition joycons separately. I really hate all of the normal colors they have for sale. I got my OLED early this year and I missed the bus on purchasing the solid gray ones I was hoping to get. The multi color sets are fine but just not my cup of tea. Two red ones like these I could make work though.

Feels like just generic Mario themed. Wish it was more directly tied to wonder.

never understood nintendo’s obsession with colorways

Too much red. Maybe spice it up with a cool design like the other special edition oled switches

Do I replace my existing Mario Red Switch… with a Mario Red Switch OLED?

The sad thing is… the only way I am buying another Switch is, if the successor isn’t backwards compatible…. Like, for backup.

I hate technically rewarding them for not being backwards compatible, but what can you do?

    finally, another nintendo switch

  12. Love how the special thing about this is IN THE DOCK. THE ONE THING YOU’LL PROBABLY SEE THE LEAST OF.

  13. Moznomick

Where was this when the Switch 1st released? I love the color red and it always looks so good on consoles.

  14. ClownMorty

The switch itself is red which is cool. For me who hasn’t bothered to upgrade yet, this is pretty cool. I like it.

Considering this is coinciding with Mario Wonder, which is a very vibrant and colorful looking game, you’d think there would be some more colors on this than just red.

People really have a lack of appreciation for clean and simple design. This edition of the switch oled is simple and classy, instead of having graffiti graphics everywhere.

If I was an older Mario fan, and/or loved the colour red, I would love to have this piece in my living room.

Not really a ‘wonder’ design for a game with such crazy ideas

  18. AveragePichu

I literally could not care less what color my gaming box is, it sits on the table and is not what I’m looking at when I’m playing Xenoblade Chronicles 3

  19. OhnoKoolaid

Bought the first version because it was the only special edition to have a fully colored tablet. Gave it to the wife when the OLED came out. Now I feel the need to ditch the OG OLED for the all red again. Love the color.

  20. Resident-Site-391

Probably my least favourite of the OLED special editions, my favourite being the splatoon version

  21. If anyone had thought there was any chance of Nintendo announcing next gen soon, well not anymore….

  22. Big-Rip2640

Is this the best Special Edition they could come up before the inevitable Switch 2 in 2024-2025 and for the ever so popular Mario??

    Come on Nintendo……

  23. ppondpost

Mark my words… This little unloved OLED design will be the one that’s worth the most money on the second hand market in a decade. We’re all gonna sleep on it, but this is gonna be the ‘retro Switch’ everyone wants once we’re past the Switch 2.

For some reason, I’d hoped they would do a really colorful design for Wonder, maybe even use a rainbow pastel gradient or something (that would look nice w/ the pastel joy-cons released a couple months ago). But no, they just made a worse version of the original Mario switch, lol. The red, blue, and yellow color scheme of the original was way more fun and reminded me of the SMB3 cover art.
