Having a great time with this game. Cool to hear that there will be more it! I’ll be interested to see how they tie it in to The Messenger.

It just came out and they’re already announcing DLC?

  3. Based on the article, it sounds like the title is misleading, as the DLC was only said to “provide additional insight on the narrative overarching all of our games,” rather than straight up linking the two.

That being said, if you know the details about The Messenger’s cancelled DLC and the name of this DLC, it does seem likely that it’s gonna be a crossover. The Messenger was planned to have three free DLCs with a connected storyline, with the second taking place in the “Tower of Thyme” and the third being in the “Clockwork Castle”. The latter two ended up being canceled to focus on Sea of Stars (since it turns out making free DLC doesn’t make money), but they said that the unfinished storyline “will likely be continued in another form”. The name of this game’s DLC is “Throes of the Watchmaker” – which certainly sounds like something that would be connected to a Clockwork Castle. And since the Messenger would have reached the castle through the Tower of Thyme (which rhymes with “Tower of Time”), it’s entirely possible that the heroes of the different eras will meet up in this adventure.

Of course, I still haven’t actually played this game and am avoiding spoilers, so I don’t know anything beyond what was already predicted prior to release.

And I am sitting here and waiting to order the physical version next year … but at least Chained Echoes should arrive *soon* … if First Press Games delivers…

  5. The words “Metroidvania” and “Soulslike” need to die.

Ah this is dumb and childish just like all the switches games it seems and the few games it has that decent xbox and Playstation offer free Nintendo wants full retail for it kinda lame

  7. The completionist is a character in the game… he’s a house builder

How is the game? I’ve been hearing alot about it but didn’t want to watch anything that would spoil it. I love the old school 16 bit style

JRPG? The game is made in Canada, just call it turn based rpg.

Jrpg? I didn’t think it was a Japanese developer?
