That would be nice. DK is cool. But not holding my breath
This would be the first truly new Donkey Kong game in 10 years and if it’s 3D, it’ll be the first true 3D Donkey Kong platformer since DK64. Honestly, I’d be happy with either, I love DKC and I love DK64.

Am I the only one thinking about the possibility of a DK Movie being announced at the Direct? Nintendo has shown their interest in expanding the brand into more movies, and DK World was a big part in Super Mario Movie.

A 3D Donkey Kong game would be amazing, really curious why we don’t get more of them. The 2D games are always great so maybe that’s why
A 3D DK64 game was leaked years ago but never came around. Plenty of reliable leakers were also talking about Star Fox Grand Prix and Metroid Prime remaster years and years ago (prime remaster obviously came out but it was years after leakers said it would and isn’t really a left field prediction) so it’s always hard to get too excited.
What really makes me skeptical is the timing. The last Direct gave the impression that Wonder is the last really big game for the switch and they’d then just be buying time with remasters, remakes and smaller titles until the Switch 2.
I can’t see why they’d release a major DK entry this late unless I’m wrong about how they do things these days and the Switch’s immense success means they want to release a Blockbuster game at Christmas and give the switch one last push before probably a March reveal of Switch 2.
We don’t know the exact date for the direct yet, do we?

I’m shidding right now. I have been pining for a new DK lately. I almost bought tropical freeze for the second time and have gone back to the 3ds version of returns.
I am just imagining the creativity and quality of TOTK, Wonder, Odyssey, and well tons of Nintendo games (minus the sports games lol) used in the time since tropical freeze came out and imagining it in a DK world. Please let this be.
