Pokemon GO has just announced the Adventures Abound season featuring the pokemon found in the Paldea Region. This season of GO Battle League features a significant move updates includes nerfs, buffs, and new moves. In total it came with over 150 move updates.
With all these move updates, this video will focus on pokemon that received a significant buff for this upcoming season of GO Battle League either through moves specifically being buffed or access to new moves.
Welcome to Beyond the Hype. I created this series as there is a lot of click bait and false impressions of pokemon and I want to give you a real in depth analysis of whether a pokemon is worth spending dust and candies on. In this video we look at Greedent. Greedent receives a very cut and dry upgrade getting a faster energy generation fast move that is only a 2 turn move (mud shot) compared to the 3 turn move of bullet seed. As a result it is spammier and an upgrade. However, does that make this one of the best safe swaps in Great League?

Definitely agree that in order to be popular on youtube, you'll play by their rules. Being click baity, making flashy titles, its unfortunately a part of the content creator process, you could be the most honest person but if you want youtube to add your videos to the recommendation section, then you play ball.
That being said I still think this is going to be an amazing series because once the new car shine wears off, the battle league landscape will undoubtedly change to specific methods and focus on pokemon that lived up to that hype and are going to change the landscape. I definitely believe Gligar is going to become more popular, I'm also curious how the meta will handle carbink in the coming weeks.
Great series and always another great vid… i agree alot of tubers are hyping these pokemon up. They have better wins against a few they would lose but nothing to say WOW!! this season is my time to build ML pokemon woot woot so looking forward to vids on choices. 😉🤣
I'm enjoying this series. I didn't think Greedant was much of an upgrade. But now that I'm playing other good players, I've had a couple games where I am winning by getting to the final charged move a couple turns faster.
Definitely still losing to fighters and Registeel. I do think it helped against Stunfisk by getting more chunk charged moves and getting super effective fast moves.
I was using Greedent as safe swap with gliscor and Froslass
Not having to bait is a really nice thing to have, I much prefer the consistency and decreased risk (probably a skill issue on my end)
And yeah, I really hate that clickbait is the norm now especially when it was pretty looked down upon before, but it undeniably is beneficial for content creators so I can't hate on them too much for doing it
Dan spitting some psychological truths here.
🎉
Thanks! Great series. Already subbed, will be re-watching. Great work explaining 3 turn move takes 6 seconds because 1.5 versus 2 turn gets there sooner because 1.0. Having the graphic centered while you explained was brilliant. Would love even more if you would include fast move counts and charged throw timing (e.g.1,4&7.) Repetition eventually sinks in.
I think it would be great in Ultra league because of its bulk
i also rlly dont get the steelix hype. its up to rank 12 rn in pvpoke for GL somehow although i see literally 0 good wins against the pokemon in the top 30 lmfao
So many of these move changes just feel like side grades that dont really change much in the great league
I/We appreciate the in-depths!!
I have a Rank one Serperior I haven’t built up yet because it was always like Tier 3ish.
Aerial Ace got buffed, and Grass seems to be good this season.
Not sure if Ace is good enough when Super Effective, being non-STAB and all..
For the diggersby video, try both mud shot hyperbeam and quick attack fire punch, the latter has been fun to run!
Love you Dan! You are the man! And you keep it 💯 with your so needed information about the new moves/buffs .. keep up the great work! I am one of your main fans !!! Thanks again !! 🙏🏽👍🏽
Great video, Dan! Thing is gonna be a beast in retro cup with the ability to wall Cofagrigus and now Muk since it has mud shot.
As a player who has returned to PokemonGo after having only played in the first year I really appreciate your series. Thanks for the hard word!
Been loving the tanks squirrel!
Separately, having fun running the stunfisk, mantine, sableye team you suggested in your team building video! 11/15 in three sets and a few of those loses I misplayed
does hundo lickitung works level 44.5 or u need level 50
I think the bigger difference will be in Ultra League. Mud Shot’s extra reach damage on Steels and Giratina will be a much bigger help in Ultra League. In Great League, I feel it’ll be more of a sidegrade; the extra reach damage on Steels can definitely be nice, but it’ll miss the extra reach on Swampert as well.
You’re in the content creating fog! Hang in there brother. Grab a soda on me.
Really appreciate the no spin zone. HSH is the king of making videos the day a new mon comes out(which makes me think he spoofs) and Z has become the king of basic b*tch teams.
Love this no nonsense(no hype) series! Keeping it real!!!
Greedent vs Dubwool thoughts?
Before Dan's videos I powered up an Exploud, Alolan Raticate, and Seviper.
Now, I have powered up a Registeel, Azumarill, and Noctowl.
Thanks Dan!**
*Paid testimonial**
***Just kidding
Dan. Thanks for doing these. From a father to a father.
I wonder where diggersby falls in that safe swap list now
Edit: I look forward to finding out in your upcoming video
can you do golisopod in GL and UL?
The algorithm is just too much for me to take this serious. Make p v p random
I got my azu built just before the season turnover, so running it now with Shadow ASlash and medi. Also no walking needed for the XL's, I'm currently walking my sableye. Might try creedent in place of lickitung later, no XL's for licki yet. Getting there with GL mons 😄
I have the rank 1 Greedent for GL, it was fun before but will be even more fun now.
Good morning Dan
Yoo dan I just played you and algorithmed you bad. I had pelliper lead against your gligar. Medicham for your sandslash and i can’t remember your last but i had lanturn
I appreciate the analysis as always! As you mentioned, I'm working on my Lickitung so I've been using Greedent. I've actually enjoyed using greedent as my opening Pokémon, as people tend to switch to medicham/counter Pokémon and I can switch out. Also good for getting rid of shields. I've been using medi/lanturn as my other two, though I like the idea of froslass. 🙂
