Is it true that they have a shiny form available in game? I just found this but don’t know if it’s true. I feel lucky enough to encounter one of them during my walk but if i stumbled upon a shiny?? I’d probably lose my mind. Have you guys ever encountered one or caught one? Would this be an instant masterball situation? I’d feel a little bummed if i encountered a shiny Galarian bird (if it’s actually available) and it’s cp was 200+/- like some of the previous ones I’ve encountered.

No they can’t be shiny yet…
Every single Pokemon has a shiny variant, but not all of them are available in Pokemon Go yet.

The G-Birds, for some reason, shinies are very protected by TPC. Their shinies and Shiny Eternatus were only avaliable through a distribution through online tournies (Eternatus was through Gamestop) and can ONLY be traded through SwSh. There is no legitimate way to obtain them as of right now besides old code cards, but they aren’t locked.
In PoGo however, they are. They probably won’t unlock them ever, because shiny legends are guaranteed catches in PoGo. Plus, maybe they’d even know how bad players would feel if they fumbled a shiny legend.
When their shinies get released, Imagine catching a shiny galarian bird, but also imagine the feeling of one fleeing.

That’s pretty lame the shinies look like the normal birds.. would have been cool to really spice them up, maybe some wild neon/bright accents or something.

these galarian bird shinies are not obtainable currently. They were only obtainable in an event distribution in sword and shield.

Would you want a shiny Galarian? They look just like a Kanto bird.
The shiny versions of the Galarian birds have only been made available once, it was during an online competition in sword and shield where if you did a certain number of battles each session (3 in total) you got one of them for taking part.

The shiny Galar birds were only given away in SwSh for participating in an online battle contest probably like a year or two ago now. Their shinies haven’t been released any other way despite looking sick.
You can’t Shiny hunt them in SwSh because there’s a cutscene before you encounter them. Legendaries with a cutscene cannot be shiny in SwSh (others that don’t have a cutscene like Keldeo can be shiny hunted).
I do hope the GBirds are ultimately put in raids with their shinies so that I can try for the shiny of one.

I have a shiny galarian articuno. I really wanted shiny galarian zapdos but to get them you had to participate in a tournament a few years ago, and I forgot to do the tournament for zapdos and moltres. so i just have articuno.
