I did that last week after sitting on it for several days, I had the houndour, but then over the course of several days I got two different dark types using my daily incense.

Cause there’s going to be an event later in the season where you can finish that task in 2 minutes. The psychic event is coming up and they have one of those quests for psychic also for that exact reason.

Houndour, Poochyena, Galarian Zigzagoon. Sometimes Mightyena. I’m not saying it is quick but it is do-able. I got lucky and completed it in about ten minutes this morning.

Since the event started I always delete those tasks whenever I get one. I’d rather have “catch 5/20 nymble” for stardusts.

Then I get a Houndour and pray for a third one to appear. Usually a Mightyena or a G-Zigzagoon.
Sometimes I get one from another research that also helps, like Murkrow, Purrloin or Alolan Rattata

I was able to finish this with houndour, stunky, and galarian zigzagoon, but I agree it’s a pain. I have one for psychic as well and have only seen a lunatone.

It would be nice if you could automatically opt out of certain field tasks in some menu setting. Im never going to do these or scan anything. Just let me opt out of them and if I spin somewhere that only gives those kinds of tasks then Donāt give me anything.
Obviously this enormous feature is too much of an undertaking for the devs at Niantic though, so I wonāt hold my breath on ever seeing something like this.

I got it with a houndour, nuzleaf and bombirdier. There arenāt very many options right now but I have a worse one being screenshot 3 different ghost types, the only one I have been able to get was a gendar I got on my incense.

Becauaw it is a non event research challenge. And the normal spawns this season include lots of psychics and dark types. We just havent had days uet where that is the focus. Lol. One thing about back to back events, you miss the natural wild spawns.

Had to google āDark PokemonGoā and was a little surprised at which ones were considered Dark. Not that bad once you know.
I saw my first Ghost type this morning and got the ādark or ghostā 3 days ago. Still havenāt seen a different dark type.
This is part of the current money grab challenge for the ultra ball. Theyāve made it more difficult to complete so we will pay more, just like all the 10km/12km eggs; the lack of low level raids, low catch ratesā¦..

I get Zigzagoon pretty much daily and usually one of like Poochyena or Nuzleaf as well. I just delete it because I donāt need any more Inkays

Its actually easy if you prepare – there are 2 “common” darks – houndour and gziggy, there are “rarer” ones like pooch and sometimes mightyena and nuzleaf/shiftry and research encounters like murkrow and purloin however what i did was i kept an inkay as first in my stack, that way i only need to find 2 š

Iām on 2/3 (Houndour & Galarian Zigzagoon) and finally an Inkay appeared. But by then Iād completely forgotten about the objective, only to remember the moment after I caught himā¦.

Save inkay and other dark encounters in your stored rewards or donāt collect a currently finished one until you have another task to start. Snap the one youāre collecting (Inkay) then run away so it gets saved at the bottom of the list. Next snap the one on the top of your list, hopefully a murkrow or pooch, then find your easy wild houndour. Rinse repeat. Iāll clear my park of all the other tasks I want and then go back for these, finishing 2 at a time then avalanching.

I tend to keep these tasks as long as I still have open slots on the off chance Iāll finish them. If all my slots get full Iāll delete before I go spin any new poke stops. š¤·š»āāļø
