Trying out my Select Scout pulls in Kalos Champion Stadium [Pokemon Masters EX]

I pulled in four of the select scouts over the past few weeks, and I was lucky enough to get a bonus new unit from one of them. With five new pairs on-hand, I figured I’d do a CS clear with them.

Here’s how each battle went and the sync grids used:

Summer Hilda was the unit I was already sure I was gonna get when I saw the seasonal selects in the August datamine as Topsy-Turvy is one of the most powerful and hilarious utility moves in this game. It being on a support makes the niche even better.

She puts Topsy-Turvy to good use here with the Five Stats Up option, turning those buffs into debuffs that SS Korrina appreciates. Hitmonchan completes the team with Attack buffs, Defense debuffs, and additional HP from the theme skill.

I pulled on the Seasonal Select and was surprised to get SC Sonia before I got the chance to do any selecting. I don’t really have much to say about straightforward strikers like her, but I do appreciate having a physical Grass-type to work with.

Grass-weak Siebold is one of the most annoying stages in Kalos CS, so Sonia gets a lot of support here from Karen (flinches, Sp Atk debuffs) and Event Bugsy (Attack buffs, Defense debuffs, move gauge acceleration).

That Seasonal Select pull was meant to get SC Steven, who I admittedly severely underestimated back when he first released. His teamwide utility is quite ridiculous for a non-Support unit.

He puts that to good use here by supporting Fall Hilbert, who appreciates all the boosts to maximize damage. Piers completes the stage for the faster crit buffs and the various ways to keep himself alive since I went into this stage with the special damage up parameter.

Unlike the Support Seasonal Select where I was already decided on getting Summer Hilda, I was a lot more divided on who to get from the Tech Seasonal Select. Fall Iris is a zone setter while Fall Morty finds some fun uses in Gauntlet (and he has a great outfit).

But I ended up going with Holiday Whitney for her combo of terrains and debuffs, which I make full use of here to support Giovanni. I also ended up using a super BP ticket to bring Mesprit up to 2/5 so I brought it here too.

My number 1 wishlist for the Poke Fair Selects was SS Steven, and while that sadly didn’t happen, I was still excited to find Emma as one of the choices. I’m a big fan of her character and Poison is a rare type, and since the other choices in that banner were either ones I already had or didn’t particularly care about, it was an easy decision.

SS Leaf poisoned the target and provided Defense debuffs while Lodge Blue completed the team with his flinches and Attack buffs.
