Pokemon GO has just announced the Adventures Abound season featuring the pokemon found in the Paldea Region. This season of GO Battle League features a significant move updates includes nerfs, buffs, and new moves. In total it came with over 150 move updates.

With all these move updates, this video will focus on pokemon that received a significant buff for this upcoming season of GO Battle League either through moves specifically being buffed or access to new moves.

Welcome to Beyond the Hype. I created this series as there is a lot of click bait and false impressions of pokemon and I want to give you a real in depth analysis of whether a pokemon is worth spending dust and candies on. In this video we look at ultra league golispod. Golisopod got a x-scissor buff which moved it into the top 25 rankings for UL based on pvpoke. Is it that good?

  1. X Scissor is an upgrade for Galisopod.

And one reason of not seeing many Steelix, which I havent seen either I would say it has many opponents.

Steelix weak against Fire, Water, Ground, Fighting. Lots of people using watertypes, Charizard so Steelix isnt common as it is said it would be,

  2. I think I know what you mean about clunky 3 turn moves.
I've always felt that Dubwool is overhyped and feels annoying to use but I LOVE how well Double Kick works on both Cobalion and Virizion. Same exact move and yet, feels completely different.

  3. Im actually climbing using golisopod/ amphoros/trevenant team and its pretty decent till the algorithm decide against it.

  4. Imagine Golisopod with Hydro Cannon. I wonder if it gets that for Community Day.

  5. Cobalion, armoured mew2 and golispod has been working really well since last season for me

  6. Team by another youtuber, taffystar, seemed to see a lot of success. Team consists of Steelix lead with Deoxys Defense and aerial ace/liquidation golisopod. Might be worth checking out

  7. 1st thing about the move set for Goisopod Arial Ace instead of the bug attack! Covers better am more spamming!
2nd the team seems to be put together in a hurry! Lol I would had used something else… how many flyers are out there! Charizard can not be one bc Liquidation can 1-Shot the guy down if shadow!
Overall the Mon is very strong in this meta Virizion Will had problems dealing with him! Whit the right move set!

  8. Video Series Idea: Which to XL? Got this idea when looking at the Skuntank in UL. There are merits to both the shadow and non-shadow but many players either won't have the dust of both or will only have enough XL's for one. I think you would do a good job at analyzing both versions and laying out the pros and cons of each. These are decisions we have to make all of the time and would be more evergreen videos that people could go back to like your team building series.

  9. It's a top 100 Ultra League Pokémon that doesn't require XLs or Legendary raids so I'm automatically going to build it.

  10. GGs in there I had the Cresselia, regirock, poliwrath. Your golisopod definitey core broke me lol

  11. Best cheap team I rune recently was Muk in the lead, Poli and Walrein in the back. Tapu a bit annoying but for the rest good machups!

  12. The 3 turn fm clunky affect comes from the animation imo. Its easy to see when mid atk on some mons imo; providing no lag😅

  13. I'd love to see an analysis of shadow vs kin shadow XL mons for UL! I've got a couple of XL mons that I want to build for UL, but can only build one of either the shadow or non shadow because I don't have quite enough XL for both. Things like Skuntank, Drapion, and Shiftry, Muk, (A) Muk. Those are all lower ranked on PVPoke, but that gives another video idea too.

As an F2P, I don't really have access to tons of candy for the legendaries that are all over UL. I'd love a video series on the non-legendary side of UL, because I've yet to be able to build a Cobalion/Virizion, a Regi, or a Tapu Fini. They're just much more out of reach for me because I don't have easy access to them without buying raid passes.

  14. Wouldn't Aerial Ace be a better option? Bug type damage resisted by 7 types, and many of those types are meta in the ultra league. Aerial ace provides coverage against fighters, mirror match and the odd venu/obama, and hits many other types for neutral. Xscissor probably good only against Guzzlord, goon, cress, DD (though shadow claw's fast move damage is good enough against the psychics and hope for liquidation debuffs)

  15. ive seen a lot of other creators use it more in the mid game as a safeswap their own steel-type leads (a slash, regi, steelix) and it looks good and the theory makes sense to me. its typing is tricky enough that most teams dont have a hard answer, and usually that answer can be met with one of the common steel types

  16. I've found golispod to be a great opener and core breaker. I don;t know what the hype is saying but it's def ultra league meta

  17. I've been using my 3800 CP kartana with razor leaf/leaf blade and my god 😮 he simply melts swampert

I just finished a match against a Groudon and each quick move took off the amount of damage an average charged move would do to a tanky mon

  18. Why do you use mons with 0 attack? Are they better?

I walked my 100% wimpod til it was my best friend just to hatch this guy, now I'm leveling him up for ultra league

Shadow claw / liquidation seems like it will work well

  19. Lurantis should be bug as well as grass

    It's a mantis, that's a bug
