I know shiny Pokémon are rare, but this was from an old special catch event that I am catching up on – the kind with one of those fancy background images and no catch rings – did everyone get a shiny Celebi for the event?

Yea everyone who completes that task gets one
There’s 2 special research that award celebi. One is guaranteed shiny, the other isn’t, tho it is still eligible.
