You can only have one of those at a time. If you keep one on your Daily tasks, then any other Scan tasks won’t appear, even at the same stop.
I’ve had the same one for years, just keep it, it doesn’t count towards your 3 research tasks you can have at one time
Save one , so you don’t get others
I’ve only done one and there was nobody around and I still felt like a creep. I don’t do them.
I don’t mind because I get poffins from them sometimes

I just did one earlier, and I just scanned the floor of a room was in that I could reach the pokestop from. It told me I needed to be moving around, so I just moved my hand in a circle as I scanned
It is an automatic delete from me.
I am going to buck the trend and say that I kinda like them, I find they are really easy to do and you get great rewards. I do think that they should have a toggle option for them though if you don’t want to receive them

Keep in mind that the task you get from spinning any stop while holding an unused ar task will be different than the task you would receive from the same stop WITHOUT holding an ar task. Very handy when hunting for a particular task you may want. I check all the stops in my local park with an ar task then delete the ar task and go around spinning them all again.
I’ve had the same scan task for years. It’s annoying as hell, but you just gotta keep one so you don’t get more.
I would *love* if Niantic would stop asking me to walk around recording a children’s playground, but that’s just me.

I cant even scan them… But if I could, I probably would only do them if there was NO ONE around.
Honestly disagree, just spin around a bit and resist the urge to die of cringe as people watch you spin in circles and BOOM, free items.
Something else you can do is routinely submit bad scans. If you have a history of doing this, Niantic blacklists you for those quests. I’ve been sending them pokestop scans of my middle finger, and after a few months of that, they haven’t given me those quests. In short, keep one of those quests in your inventory while you send niantic crap data; after a few months, delete it and see if you’re free yet.
Especially when it’s the kindergarten around the corner here lmao. Big nopes.
Most of the pokestops near me are playgrounds. There’s no way in hell I’m ever doing one lol.
I’ll scan them if it’s not in a place w lots of people (trail, park at a non-busy time), but I always get one to scan the Play Place inside McDonalds. like…yeah, let me, an adult man, just walk into McDonalds and start filming the Play Place. genius idea.
I kept one from a place that was especially personally meaningful for me (and which was subsequently destroyed by Hurricane Ian), so not only do I not have to keep deleting these, I get to look at something that makes me happy every time I open that screen.

There’s only 3 stops near me that I’ll spin because so many of them are in the most annoying spots and you practically have to be touching them and I just put my air pods in and and act like I’m FaceTiming a friend and I don’t know where I am while I start scanning

Scan it, hold your hand over the camera with enough room for light to get through/the pink of your palm to show then move your hand a little to mimic movement. Works every time. If they’re gonna give us these bullshit tasks might as well do it without being creepy.
Bonus is that apparently if you submit enough low quality scans you’ll get less of these tasks
I finally decided to do one and thought it would just be “take a photo of the object” but it wanted me to full on walk around, take some glamour shots, Ken Burns the images, etc. I quickly stopped and deleted it.
I’ve tried to complete them at first, but got so many errors that I went to stage 2 of scanning, which is deleting them. But as the first pokestop spin gives a new one by default in that case, I just went to stage 3: fully ignoring them. There’s one scan assignment in my list and it has been there for over a year. Niantic can stick it in anatomically improper places, I won’t do it.
Actually doing this gives Niantic tons of valuable data which they will use to make money, so you’re making them rich for a few pokeballs.
I kept sending them feet pics so they stopped letting me take scan tasks 😌
I used to, until i realized they are super easy to do and you can do them multiple times in one stop. I’ve almost got to my daily task goal in the big research just from badly scanning things.

As a rural player with acces to one stop that gives ar tasks, i am happy with 10 pokéballs for scanning the stop to be honest

I live in Florida. I’ll get shot for this lmao. It would be one thing if it was a quick picture, but it takes a *while*. I auto delete these tasks but it seems like more and more of them pop up now.
I’d actually rather get punished for not supplying videos of the actual poke stop by not getting these tasks.
I just deleted the scan until I got one I could live with. Now I have aliens from Roswell, New Mexico perpetually in that slot 😂
