I don’t have a problem with any of the tasks themselves, especially since untimed. My issue is with the rewards. The rewards for completion are terrible

Hey, what a waste of time!! Another 150 Field Research tasks for only 5 silver berries? One lucky egg and 900 XP for this like “300” epic movie? I feel Niantic has no clue how to bring better rewards.

If you’re going to keep playing this game in perpetuity, these are tasks that you’ll complete anyway. Sure, the rewards seem like hot garbage if you’re of the mentality that you must grind through this as fast as possible. But imagine this research quest line not existing in the first place, doing these tasks anyway, and getting nothing extra. Being blissfully unaware that Niantic never burdened you with tasks you were already doing, never getting extra rewards for your efforts. Jesus, the entitlement is palpable.
No one is forcing you to do this. Do it or don’t.

Of all of these, and I mean all of them I only have two gripes, since they are all passively doable. 1. Just one lucky egg, and 2. 50 candy of whom you picked….why? I get for people who missed the event, but to get this far you NEEDED ro evolve your starter choice fully. And the lucky egg is just disappointing. having to go basically a whole month to complete this one set of mission and you get a lucky egg and exp. (Yes you get the actual awards too.) But like….not even an incubator or two, a super. Hell replace the starter candy with 50 rare candy and I’d be excited.

It seems so many people are missing the point. Quests aren’t supposed to feel irrelevant. There should be a level of excitement, an incentive to play. A nice reward makes quests more exciting, as is very apparent from all the “well, you can just play the game and get them all done within half a year” responses. That’s just telling how irrelevant the rewards are compared to what is required.
