Do the hatch pools update for them, or will they stay as the corresponding gen for that year? Understandable if no one knows, but definitely interested after coming back to the game

It shows you what can hatch from each egg so scroll down to look lol
I think it stays the same since latest eggs shows what pokemons it can hatch into. I just hatched two of my 2017 eggs, i got elekid and snubbull
Likely rotten
Stays the same, I returned this year after playing in 2016 and hatched some Gen 1 Pokémon.
Could be legacy Pokemon also. Probably won’t be but make sure you check after you hatch them with @special
It stays their old hatch list and level when you picked it up. Just hatched one from 2016 two days ago and it was a Tentacool.
2016 pidgey incoming
The Pokémon species and everything is determined when you pick the egg up from the stop. So these are from the Poole that was active whenever you picked up the egg. Still might be interesting, but you can’t save your eggs until a better hatch species event comes.
Don’t hatch the egg from 2016
I have 5 eggs from 2016…just started playing again
I hatched a Tauros in Europe from an egg from 2018 in Argentina
They can hatch with legacy moves btw! I came back and hatched a staryu with Quick Attack, which hasn’t been obtainable since 2016. Some are quick rare to collectors
Possible legacy Pokémon in those eggs
Nothing special about older eggs. I have 12 from 2016 and I thought they would’ve been from 2016 but when they hatched it said 2023.
If you click on the egg and scroll down it should show you the egg pool. The Pokémon in the egg is decided when you receive the egg, so those eggs will not be updated to the current pool.
I hached a few of my old ones and they were all the old pool. Also they were missing hp. So I belive the pokemon is rolled when you get the egg not when it hatches.
You’ll get the Pokémon from THAT timeframe the eggs were acquired.
Now id like to know if these are considered og pokemon (guaranteed lucky in trade) even if they were hatched today
If you scroll down it shows you what’s likely to hatch in it , and it’s based on when you caught it. So like I have ones from the fossil event and they state there’s fossil ones in there.
What was in the pool of mons that could hatch in 2016, specifically July 20th? I re-downloaded and I have an egg from then lol.
Chesterton, Indiana? Lol I might have sent you those eggs.
Just so you know, if you don’t like those Pokemon from 2016, find someone to trade with. Traded 2016 Pokemon are automatically lucky.
Ok, nobody has touched on this, but many egg events have high chance of shiny, is the shiny rate locked in at egg creation or during hatching?
Stays the same and don’t expect amazing hatches. Let us know how it goes!
Throw them out. They no longer fresh
The contents of an egg is determined when you receive it. The game already knows which pokemon is gonna hatch from that 2016 eggg, it has always known.
Thats why eggs take up 1 pokemon box space as soon as you receive them too.
Ps. You can use this to your advantage: hatch day shinies will be shiny regardless of when you hatch the egg, as long as you recieced the egg during that event.
What I dislike about the whole egg thing, is that I receive eggs in gifts from friends in Japan. And when it’s in my egg log, it says JAPAN as the country. But as soon as I incubate it, it switches to my city and state. So clearly I’m not getting the egg I should have got
Another interesting facts if anyone is wondering, if u get and egg during an event with boosted shiny rates, the rates carry on past it.
After the Riolu event ended i hatched a shiny, then the day after i hatched another.
Eggs are determined when they’re received, not when they hatch. So whatever the pool was when you got those eggs, thats what should be in them.
Even if you saved eggs from the events that could hatch regionals, they have a possibility for regional pokemon.
