You have to wait for rayquaza mega raids to return.

Set it as your buddy and walk a lot. It works for the other mega so probably Razquaza too

If you have Mega Evolved a Rayquaza before, you can walk Rayquaza as your buddy to earn more Mega Energy.
If you have not Mega Evolved a Rayquaza before, you will have to wait for Rayquaza Mega Energy to be available again.

All the suggestions are correct that you have to wait unless you Mega evolved a different Rayquazza before.
However you also need use a Meteorite on it before it can be Mega evolved.

Well, if you have a Meteorite and use it, then walk with Rayquaza for 20km, you’ll net yourself 100 Mega Energy.

If you had the go fest ticket you should have the GO Fest 2023: Super Sky High research. It gives you a total of 400 mega rayquaza energy, enough to mega evolve once. Then you can walk it as your buddy

I know the feeling buddy. I only got to do one remote raid this last event but didn’t have a good rayray to invest in so wasn’t too worried about getting mega energy. After the event I checked the guy I got and realized he was 4*. Really wishing I had spent more time trying to get mega energy

this is why I saved alot of coins when I learned the news of mega ray coming out. im f2p and I didnt have enough raid passes to get mega energy for primal kyogre and groudon first time they got released. I learned my lesson from that.

Only way to get it is during events or raid encounters.
Once you mega evolve and it can go on cooldown, you’re allowed to walk that pokemon as a buddy and obtain energy everytime it finds a candy. So for Rayquaza every 20km you get candy and energy.
Right now by looking at your picture, you’ll have to wait. Sadly.
