Hope she’s alright, mate. I don’t want to bring politics into this sub, but it would be a shame if someone lost their life because of that narcissistic Russian nutcase.

  2. A friend I haven’t heard from since before the invasion has resurfaced recently (in the last 4 days). I hope this is the same for you. They are tenacious. They are survivors. I had the pleasure of living there 20 years ago and met some of the most wonderful humans to walk this planet. Give her a little bit a time. Losing everything you have ever known is culture shock alone…now imagine having to do in another country, you don’t know, against your will, including KNOWING it could all happen again.

  3. Hope you hear from her someday. That’s really nice that you saved those postcards.

    I hope she’s ok friend.

Maybe she’s got to hunker down and she doesn’t have phone or Internet access right now.

Keep her in your thoughts, and I hope she’s back soon ❤️

I do hope she is all right. I had a friend from Turkey that I haven’t heard from since the earthquake earlier this year. I am worried about him.

One of my Ukrainian Assetto Corza Competizione friends resurfaced a month ago. He some how escaped Ukraine with his whole setup.

I hope she just has more impoerant things on her mind than PoGo and you two return to exchanging gifts before too long.

I have a Ukrainian friend who I played with for a year. She hasn’t posted since the invasion 😭

Let’s just hope that you friend prioritized evacuating and own safety over playing some video game. Hope that he plays again someday tho

this broke my heart. sending all the good thoughts and healing vibes to all that way 🥺 this world is fucking cruel.

Its also possible that fleeing a warzone, she just has better things to do than play some PoGo… or her phone was taken/lost at some refugee checkpoint.

  15. MonLandRover

I have a Friend from Moscow…haven’t heard from since it all began : (

I’d hope and choose to believe the game took a backseat for a while but the friend will be back soon as life affords the chance.
Sadly the big R for them in Ukraine right now isnt team Rocket 🙁

    Also fook Pooptin.

another reason we need at the very least dm chats for players

  18. My friend has just lost his life in the war. He worked in the Chernobyl exclusion zone then was in France when the war broke out. He returned when the Russian army took over the city where his grandma and grandather lived

Ngl this (in my opinion) is a fucking awful thing to post.

I also had a Ukrainian friend that disappeared off the game for like 1.5 years. Then one day I received a gift from her from Netherlands!

Unbelievably happy for someone whom I’ve never met at all.

    Hopefully they’re alright.

I know people don’t want to bring these kinds of topics into this sub, but Pokémon Go is about bringing humanity together. It’s about teamwork, community, and exercise.

At its core, it’s a noble product that wants us to come closer as a people. My argument is that it should make us even more aware of injustices throughout the world. When this game came out in 2016 it was the closest we ever came to world peace. Without exaggeration.

Many of us don’t want to bring politics into this place of escape, but there’s nothing political about what’s happening in Ukraine. The Russian Federation is illicitly violating the sovereignty of Ukraine in a misguided and doltish attempt, which they proclaim is an effort to limit the influence of NATO.

No – it’s a cowards play in murdering thousands of people in an effort to restore the Soviet Union.

The world cannot, and will not allow that to happen. The progressive mind and the spirit of clemency will see Ukraine prosper again someday.

Until then, it is *everybody’s* responsibility to remember. Remember this period in our era where tyrants believed they could alter the course of a progressive future. Remember that we have the freedom to go out and enjoy things like Pokémon Go, while there are people right now with artillery barrages over their heads.

    Slava Ukraine🇺🇦

Imagine that she’s taken up arms to defend her people and her homeland. Hopefully someday soon she can get back to living an ordinary life and playing games like a regular person. For now, we just have to hope for her and her people. 🫡
