Personally I’m on the last and waiting for the next rotation, hoping it’s a good one.

You can unequip the radar and use it when you want. I have mine sitting in my box for the future.

Someone else also covered this. If you don’t finish this quest line you won’t qualify to receive the next quest when it launches. The only way to stack Giovanni researches is to stop on the first page and don’t claim any rewards. I currently have shadowy skirmishes, from the shadows and a shadowy disturbance stacked. So three researches all stopped on page one. So you need to finish up this research and then stop them on page one from now on.

I messed up and went past page one of the last rocket research, so I went ahead and took all 3 of my current rocket researches to the page where you have to find, battle, and beat Giovanni. I will be forced to catch whatever his next mon is (hoping it’s not regigigas) but then I will have access to the newest set of rocket research. Also sitting on 6 or 7 SRRs in my bag just waiting

Either that, or just don’t go to battle every time he meets you.

I’m not understanding what people are saying here.
You can just claim it but not activate it until the next encounter with Giovanni becomes available. And then you can use it along with the next one that you earn to get two of that particular Pokémon, if you so choose. Is that not correct? I have an extra Super Rocket Radar saved (I don’t remember how I came to have an extra) that I’m wanting to use for another Shadow MewTwo some day.

Do you always get a black radar after fighting cliff, sierra and Arlo? I only got two of them so far and only encountered Giovanni two times when there was a task about him. I see some people having multiple of his shadow Pokémon’s – how is that possible?

I would claim it, then look up what legendary pokemon he has depending on the month, and when there is a legendary you want, battle him

At this point, the radar is already in your inventory so might as well claim it. As others said, you won’t be able to get the new research if you’ve gone past page 1 so hopefully you learned something new for next rocket event.

Giovanni changes the obtainable legendary every few months. Now it’s Regirock (trash). The next pokemon is confirmed to be Regigigas (kinda trash but only because normal type doesn’t have an effectivness). So keep them until something useful comes
