Would love if they’d release a home demo too, but I’m going to buy it anyway at this point

Saw one in my local target yesterday, but I was t able to try it out since someone was already there and I had pizza to pick up

Remember to bring some hand sanitizer!

Wow didn’t realize this game came out next week.

My LGS has the demo and I played it, here are some things I noticed:

    * You can choose to play as Mario, Luigi, Peach and multiple colors of Yoshi.
    * The game gives you 5 modifiers to choose from with powers like higher crouch jump, floating with marios hat, enemies give coins when defeated etc.
    * You can play about 2 or maybe 3 levels. I don’t know if the game has a timer but it closed the software during the third level.
    * They are pushing the Elephant power A LOT.
    * The Elephant power is required to unlock small features in the levels such as watering flowers to get coins or effects to happen.
    * Other powerups found were the fire flower and the standard red mushroom.
    * Each level I played had two wonder seeds, one hidden in the level and the other for completing the level.
    * The Wonder Effects are pretty fun, tho most of the ones in the demo are from the trailer.
    * There is one effect I didn’t see before and it basically rains down invincibility stars and lets you run through a level at super speed.
    * Two new enemies were a chipmunk that spits acorns at you and a giant rhino that takes A LOT of Fire balls to defeat.

  6. I watched some people play it on youtube and figured that I will wait until it comes out. Looks like it’s a few early levels and if I will be playing them anyways, would rather do it fresh.

Great idea for players on the fence, some younger players didn’t grow up with side-scrollers like I did and they might be unsure about it.

I didn’t think they still did retail demos. Reminds me of the time of the 3DS where I would go to my local GameStop to play like Mario Kart 7 or whatever they had there because I was too poor to actually buy it.

They’re only available at Best Buy in Canada but I think I want to go in blind anyways.

So these aren’t places that already have gaming systems set up, right?

Because I haven’t seen one of those in Gamestop, Walmart or BB for years. If places still have playable systems, where?

    I haven’t seen a Switch kiosk in a while.

The Joy-Cons were drifting everywhere. 😅

  10. Th pro controller looks different. Maybe next nintendo console controller leak?

Got to play 2 levels and had a lot of fun. Definitely picking it up on release day!

It’s a pretty meaty demo, I was taking my time and the game booted me in the middle of the third level.

This is such a weird throwback. Did they just not want people to be able to datamine a regular demo on the e-shop?

Cool but… as everyone else said, why not release a home demo?

FF16 demo was released two to three weeks before release. Wasn’t really on planning on buying it, but the demo was so good that I couldn’t wait until the three weeks were over.

If you trust your game, just release a home demo to convince us lol

Sucks for people that don’t live in the US. Can’t wait until 20th to play it.

I went to Walmart over the weekend to check it out, there was a lil kid there playing it… walked away in shame.
Went to Target yesterday and they had it available with noone around so I got to play for a lil bit.

This is old news. The life of a “journalist” these days 🤣. Cut / paste / repeat
