Pokemon Go

Why Niantic??????????

This makes no sense. The game already has barely any routes (u less you create your own (like i did. I have 1 route near me and I live in a city of 3 million people) on top of that if you complete a route you can’t find anymore cells (not like they exist anyways).

I’ve walked this 1.5 km route 3 times now and still have 0 cells lol. And its the only one near me so if I complete it I’m fukt. Can’t do the research and can’t evolve zygarde. Lol nice logic niantic

I’m confused, all you need to do is finish the route and then do another one (could even just redo the same one)…..

Zygarde cells aren’t guaranteed, some routes might have them, some might not. And finishing a route doesn’t mean you’ll never find cells anymore….

  2. t_e_e_k_s

There’s a trick to getting Zygarde cells. If you stop around 100m from the end of the route and keep reloading the app, you should find one.

  3. Tie-Dyed-Geese

From my experience, most people I’ve seen haven’t seen cells until around their 6-10th route complete. I found my first cell on my 9th route. Same route I did every time. (Every other route in my town ended or started on a busy road that didn’t have any sidewalk access. So this was the only route I could do.)

  4. Like I get the frustration but dude… it takes 5 minutes to google “best way to find zygarde cell” and learn thst in the last 100 meters just stare at your phone and you’ll find this glowing light. Click it and bam, you’re done

  5. Psychological-Car800

My routes keep pausing for no reason and I’ve tried Uninstalling it and reinstalling it AND IT STILL KEEPS PAUSING

info has been spotty on routes but here’s what seems to be the deal. You can get cells from a specific route the first time you do it a day.
average routes seem to have 3 route spawns on them (you’ll see it on the pokemon like incense)
Some people have reported more spawns on longer routes.
Route spawn tend to pop in thirds along the route.
if you haven’t had all your spawns by the time you’re 100m away from the end of the route, stop. open up the menu and pause the route, close and re open the app, this seems to cause the route spawn to pop.
you can get between 1-3 cells on a single click/pickup.
there doesn’t seem to be a speed limit for routes so in theory you could park at the start, drive to near the end, pull over safely and try to get a cell spawn.

Everytime you start the route there’s a chance of a cell. I’ve found 3 I think and all have been on the same route I’ve done about 15 times. Each time you finish “early” it comes up with that message

  8. GalayStAr

you can get 1 zygarde cell from each route every day

  9. FaithlessnessOld7055

i have finished 16 routes and only found 1 cell so far, i feel your pain bro

  10. F22_Android

I just moved back to the Netherlands from South Florida, and I’m surprised there’s so many routes here compared to SF. I didn’t love rurally or anything, a busy town right on the beach and I never saw a single route. Now I see like 3 from my living room. I think it really just depends on the area and active player base your area has.

  11. Daphyron

There is 1 route in my little town, that i do almost everyday and i get cells almost everytime i do it (1 time per day), i even caught 3 cells one day at once. I don’t understand your frustration.

  12. How comes if you’ve walked the route 3 times, the quest is showing 0 times? 🙂

I made a route that’s basically my normal walk to the store, so everytime i go out i can walk it “for free”.

  13. emptyrevolution

I’m stuck on it too. Still waiting for a route to be approved within 30km of where I live. At this point I’ve given up on ever completing that quest.

  14. DuckSwimmer

Assuming you’re a rural player..? New York has so many routes.

  15. Wonderful_Emu_9610

    Wait THAT’S WHAT IT MEANS?!

I thought it just meant they wouldn’t be lying around for a few minutes if I missed one in my rush to complete it. Finally completed that 1st stage last week (got a cell on my first route too!)

Well I was never going to go for the 1000 routes to leave my Zygarde anyway, it’s nicknamed “HOME” for a reason. But that’s so dumb, I’m never doing another route

  16. SouthernBiscuit

If you’ve walked the route 3 times how are you still at 0/3 for the walk 3 routes task? Have you never actually completed it?

  17. emperor1080

Didn’t they just patch routes with the cells being near the end of the route, if it had any? I’ve done several with them at the end and sometimes it gave me two from the one spot at the end.

  18. Whut? I live in a city and there are tons of routes …? Maybe it depends on the location, idk if your city is very walkable or maybe there aren’t a lot of players (what would confuse me in a 3 million city).

  19. It’s so weird because I have submitted 7 routes at my campground and all are in the game. took maybe a month to get them all but the first 3 took maybe 4 days? I made sure all were barely over 500m and its wonderful.

  20. shanshant69

Learned the hard way (Niantic getting back to me after the route timed research ended) that that is just how you complete routes now. They mean if you haven’t celebrated the ones that showed, they will be gone. But if you collected it, it doesn’t auto complete anymore, you have to press that. Terrible wording

  21. TokenHoustone

This happened to me. Found a cell at the end of the route, got the animation, and nothing. It took me a while to find another cell, but the research completed.

  22. cal2pa-kjm

Okay since apparently most people missed the news….
When you do a route, if you don’t find any cells on it, you can trying reloading the game before finishing the route. After reloading the game, if there isn’t a cell, then there wasn’t one on that route for that day. You can repeat the route as many times as you want but it will not give you a cell since you already have done that route for that specific day.

You can try that same route the following day and there is a chance it will have a cell. It’s not guaranteed and does change daily.

  23. DecisionTypical

I don’t understand routes at all. I created one in my town and it hasn’t been approved or denied. It’s just sitting in review limbo. I created one in the town I work, and it was accepted immediately as I submitted it. It stayed up a week and is now removed…

No notifications or reasoning for either situation just unknown confusion. Kind of hard to engage with a system that has limited options and the creation system is confusing.

  24. MrZGremlin

I still haven’t even found a zygarde cell smh

  25. Hey_u_smell

Oh I finished the whole thing it took a minute to find routes but then there was two going from my train to my house (that I didn’t make) and it was over with pretty soon

  26. kannagms

I have to go to an entirely different state to get one route (I mean it’s a 15 minute drive to get to it and it’s a slightly better area.) My other option is to risk getting mugged for the chance of finding a cell and uhhhh no. No thanks. Niantic really put all the routes in my area in literally the worst part of town. Or yk, dancing back and forth across a busy highway.

  27. GamesFreakNerdPerson

The cells spawns are somewhat now fixed to positions in the routes. If you found one before chance to find it same spot again.

  28. Madness_051

If ya only made 1 route, you still have 4 left to make. I live in an area of just 60,000. Get to it trainer.

  29. ethiopian123

I do the same route, always there at the end. Always.

  30. Ducpus-73

I found a YouTube video that says there are three regional pokemon that spawn on the route and have the route symbol on their name. Only 2 of the 3 will spawn at the near beginning middle or end of the route. If your route autocompletes stop 100 meters out to wait for the final 2 route pokemon and the cell.
Another option I have yet to try,
    pause the route
    Close the app
    Reopen the app
Unpause the route and you’ll see the cell for a split second

  31. Rasty_lv

“That’s your own fault for not living in Tokyo or New York. ” Niantic probably

  32. kukkolka

so to find cells you need to catch route pokemon on the route (there are 3 max) you can identify them by a circle route icon above their name. and then 100m before the end of the route – dont go and spin the finish flag. look around it. It will be a little glowing ball that looks like a glowing dust particle on fully zoomed out mode. If you can’t see it follow this steps for a cell:

    1.Pause the route.

    2.Close the application.

    3.Open the application.

    4. Resume route.

    It will spawn.

  33. dodger1314

They fixed routes now, zyguard cells are geo-locked so they should appear at the same spot every time. They only appear if you’ve walked the entire distance of the route so make sure it says you walked the distance the route is supposed to be. I’ve found that longer routes will give you more cells.

  34. Independent-Survey44

Wait really… I’m almost positive I’ve gotten two cells from the same route

  35. Consistent_Boat7914

I’ve submitted 3 routes and they have been awaiting approval for nearly 8 weeks…no routes in my area.
It is just stupid that if they can’t approve routes in a timely manner that some people lose out 😠😠

  36. KingVenomous123

I’m legit just on the zygarde cell search and it’s taking forever

  37. rca_2011

You can collect cells every day from the same route. Once a day but still. It’s not a one and done thing.

  38. sau_dard

I got 2 cells after doing 5 routes. And after this, the task is to collect 5 cells 😂

  39. CheddarOffBread

Every time I find a cell it’s at the VERY end of the route

  40. GardenSquid1

I had the same complaint when Routes and this research first dropped, but now there are routes all over the place in my city of 1 million.

  41. Square_Spot1988

You can find cells in the same route I do it all the time. Not saying I get cells all the time but I do the same route and have 12 cells

  42. Spiritual_Clue_2013

I completed this first time i went to city and i finaly get “route is nearby” – task completed in 20 minutes

  43. irishfro

Edit: I don’t know how to add an edit to my origninal post, but here is an update to my thoughts.

I’m not upset it’s hard to find cells, that is fine. I was confused to the wording Niantic used. I thought the message meant that if i click the “complete route” button then if i want to do the route again in the future, cells won’t spawn. I thought it was a 1 and done thing. You can only find cells on a route once and then you must do a NEW route if you want to find more. This is not correct as others have said. It was my mistake, I interpreted this message wrong. I assumed it would be obvious that once i complete the route cells won’t spawn because i’m no longer actively walking the route. The game doesn’t say that you can still find cells if you re-do the route.
