Same here, mostly in friends list but in other random areas of the game.
Found a workaround in an old thread where you can turn your online status off, exit the friends list, open it again, wait for it to load, then turn your online status back on. It worked for me but then it failed to load again next time I opened it.

I’m trying to coordinate friendship increases with 8 people today at the start of CD and this is happening lmao. For what it’s worth, my list loads about 1/4 of the time, so just keep trying

Oh wait bro, I just realized it probably did it because of the cmday so that you couldnt just sit to get shinies so that you run out of pokeballs so that you have to walk to get more pokeballs boosting the spawn rates. maby maby not i think that is the reason

Yep. Wasted a lucky egg and a lot of xp from best/ultra friendship lost as a result because of course people opened my gifts after it was fixed when I didn’t have an egg on.
