Sonic Superstars feels like the NSMBU of Sonic games. Not bad, but so sterile and bland and the kind of game you forget you played a day after completing it. And it’s priced way too high.

I’ll give this a go when it’s on sale. Aside from spider man 2, I find it hard to justify buying games full price other than Nintendo ones…. And this one is closer to spider man than SMW in price which I find crazy.

I’m having a lot of fun with this. Didn’t find it to be that bland or sterile like others say. It’s a very fun game. I’d say anyone who likes classic Sonic should give this a try – it doesn’t revolutionize the formula but it pulls it off very well, I’d say it’s one of the best Classic Sonic games. Not quite as good as Mania though. However, do wait for a sale, this is 40$ at best.

When you’re a seasoned Sonic player (aka an old bitch) you can tell pretty quickly when a 2D Sonic game misses the mark. All you have to do is play the first level to see Azrest definitely doesn’t understand what made the old games so good. This is a wait for deep deep discount kinda title.

Regardless of how long or good this game is $60 is asking a lot with it releasing so close to Spider-Man 2 and Super Mario Bros. Wonder. Wonder specifically is going to eat so many sales away from Superstars.
It makes me wonder if a $30-$40 pricetag would have been more appropriate for this game. Again not saying this is a bad game at all (I don’t actually know the reception this game is receiving), but I don’t think Sega chose the right release date for this game.
Or I could totally be wrong and this becomes the best selling Sonic game ever. I don’t think that will happen, but I’m also not a multi billion dollar company making these decisions lol

Great sonic game….not worth $60….I can say the same about Mario wonder…. Tiny file size games selling at the the same price as modern AAA titles

I’ve been playing Wonder for a few days and been loving it in small bursts. Saw this was released and thought I’d try it out. So far I’m not really feeling it at all. The first couple levels were okay at best. The loading times are ridiculous and I’ve noticed quite a bit of random lag for no reason. There is NO reason at all that this game should have these long loading times, even just from level to the next. There is also NO reason there should be lagging at all in this game on this console.
As for the controls, they don’t feel bad. Nothing to really complain about on that part. Music so far hasn’t been terrible but also nothing great.
Chasing the Chaos emerald is also pretty lame IMO.
