Donāt worry it probably wasnāt a hundo. There are 53 versions of the 2443CP bird so it only has a 1.89% change of being hundo. A bit more if itās weather boosted (6.25%).

What even is the deal with these birds? Why are they the only legendaries that appear from the incense? Or am I wrong and there are more?

I personally love they added hard to get pokemon. Makes the game feel less boring.
Getting shinies that then get community days is always a meh / disappointment feeling.
These give an adrenaline rush.
I wish they had more RARE pokemon. Shiny raid legendaries are also boring.

First encounter was a 3,100 cp weather boosted Articuno. I had no idea that they had such low catch rates and it got away, I should have used the master ballā¦

Sorry to hear ur moltres, had the same thing happen and even got excellent too. Catch rate is so low just imagine that youāre never going to catch one without master ball lol

It might have been a Hundo level 27, or a nundo level 32, or a number of in between levels and IVs.

You think thatās bad? Today I had a galarian Articuno show up, while I was on my way to defeat the last grunt to obtain the first master ball. I was literally at the last grunt, and he spawned right next to it.
You really never know how it’s going to go with these birds. I’ve had a 40cp Zapdos flee with a spot on attempt, but then went on to catch one in the high 900’s not even hitting the ring. It really does require the niantic God’s smile upon you when throw that ballšš
Caught a moltres at the Hundo cp and it is a 0 star one. Donāt beat yourself up about it
If it makes you feel any better, I’ve not had a single legendary bird encounter yet.
