Sounds like a train wreck of a collection, I will hard pass.

  2. iamnotkurtcobain

How about fixing them before you launch a fucking game?

  3. Just reinforces my feelings to wait for the bargain bin.

  4. Night-Lion

Should also be noted the master collection reportedly fixes a number of issues/bugs from the HD Collection.

Some of the notable ones include fixing the out of sync opening for MGS3, The End intro cutscene, and the delay between codec and cutscenes.

  5. a-cloud-castle

Pretty easy decision for me to not buy the game.

  6. matt82swe

Yeah, if you want to experience these games, use emulation

  7. you’ll need to pay us before we fix anything smh

  8. obligatorymeltdown

Is waiting on buying this possibly going to screw me over? Like I feel like Konami is the kind of company who would pull this from shelves randomly. I want to wait for a sale but I have this funny feeling that Konami might Konami things up.

  9. AstroFuzz

What I’m reading is.. “Wait til our game is %50 or more off, you’ll get it cheaper and it’ll run better.”

    Optics aren’t good here.

  10. AThrowawayAccount100

How about the issue of them not bothering to put a ps1 game and 2 ps2 games all on the damn cart?

  11. This gives me the “developers told management it wasn’t ready yet” but “management needed something out for quarterly profits” energy

  12. GammaPhonic

How did they fuck this up so bad? It’s not like Konami… oh right, Konami.

  13. Hangmanned

Maybe patch in 60FPS as well since the Switch can absolutely handle it?

  14. yaboiispank19

Just get a few emulators and roms, unless I’m mistaken are any of the games in this collection remastered or updated or anything? if not then I really don’t see outside of not having a pc a point in this collection

  15. MaverickHunterSho

    again modern gaming classic issues

  16. ReverBeliever

    -Konami makes a game
    -Consumer buys it
    -It is overpriced crap
    -Consumer is sad

Repeat for the last 8 years

Why are people surprised. It is fucking Konami

  17. vgundam21

I confirm the issues will be fixed pre-purchasing.

  18. Dexterity4614

No problem Konami, my V1 switch approves the.. atmosphere.. of your comment. Next time fix it before launch, maybe we’ll talk then.

Today a day one 1.2.0 update was released. The master collection also fixes/reverts some of the bugs/changes that were introduced in 2011s HD Collection like:

    MGS2:

    * Broken Shaver mechanic for Snake/codec call in Arsenal Rectum (Snake with no beard doesn’t work in Arsenal Gear) (Fixed in Master Collection)

    * In-game credits during cutscenes are written in a different color (Fixed in Master Collection)
    * Metal Gear Solid 2 logo in the opening is much smaller then in the original version (Fixed in Master Collection)

    * Pause/delay before codec calls (Fixed in Master Collection)

    MGS3:

    * Certain visual effects are broken like in the cutscene with The End (Fixed in Master Collection)

    * Pause/delay for changing camouflage and opening the cure menu etc. (Fixed in Master Collection)
    * The Snake Eater song in the beginning is out of sync due to the removal of the ambient noise that normally plays when “Konami Entertertainment Presents” is onscreen (Fixed in Master Collection)

The article also complains about MGS1 being 30fps while ignoring that the game breaks at higher framerates. Specific parts of MGS3 for example are also tied to the framerate which is the reason there are issues at 60fps that won`t be in the NS version like:

    * The Fury does things like attacking the wrong way and using his abilities during hitstun. Also at higher framerates a much larger amount of fire can persist on the ground which can be be especially seen on xbox series x/s since the game runs at a stable 60fps (Tied to framerate)
    * The Pain’s bullet bee will not hit Snake in first person view, because of the game running at 60fps (Tied to framerate)

  20. Kaquillar

I think I’ll buy it post launch with -50% minimum, thank you Konami

  21. General_Truth

I’ll just probably purchase this collection when it’s 40% or more off in a year. By then they should have all the bugs and fps issue fixed

  22. desterion

I’m sure it will get fixed. Just like scarlet and violet

  23. jdmorgenstern

If you read the article, the bugs that have been found are very minor (e.g., subtitle typos in EU copies and a delay in cutscene timing).

  24. RemiX-KarmA

While adjusting prices to half would be nice. I’m craving a metal gear game even if remastered, but not for $60.

  25. majormoron747

Sounds like you won’t be getting any money from me till post launch then bub

Fuck Konami, all my homies hate Konami

  26. BigDaelito

People that really want this game need to speak with their wallets and send a message. This line been used too many times. And sometimes takes forever to fixed or not fixed at all. Why is an old game coming out with these issues? Also why can’t they delayed it and polished these ports?

  27. Eqvinsvxocha

Then I’ll think about purchasing it post post launch.

  28. SexuaIRedditor

Gaming is becoming exhausting. Studios will keep churning out these half baked blunders at full retail price and people will just keep buying them
