They are very rare, it’s just sample bias, people don’t post when they get mediocre encounters, I too usually have horrible luck for raids
Malitzal
I don’t know how they do it, I only got my first hundo from a raid yesterday
Exciting_Cow_2771
It took me 9 tries to get a 4*. Never even saw a shiny. Have 4, 4* pokemon now. It’s just luck or grinding or using apps to see where they are
NaRKeau
They’re doing more raids than you realize. Do enough raids, and you’ll get one.
Chainheart85
I think the odds of hundos are 1 in 4096 in the wild, and 1 in 216 for eggs, research, and raids. So just brute force. Shundos….. I’ve caught almost 120,000 mons and yet to get one, and I’ve seen people with less than 5,000 have 2.
It’s a vocal minority. This subreddit is only a tiny fraction of actual players, the rest don’t have as good luck and don’t post their catches.
ShayloFolina
People spend money on raid passes which gives them a higher chance of a hundo bc of more encounters
Th3JoLLyNomad
Was getting 1 shiny every 3 raids (average) no shundos or hundos
mamabirdof7
I know hosting a raid can be difficult, but losing a remote raid pass due to trainers fleeing, is infuriating. Congratulations to everyone catching this guy.
HotchsCorner
I go walking ALL the time. Usually 8-10 miles per day so I catch all kinds of Pokémon. And I hatch a lot of eggs so I have a 1/216 chance for a hundo, 1/50 for a shiny and 1/10800 for a Shundo.

Reddit makes it look super common to get a shundo. However, it’s actually super rare. Been playing since 2016 and I have 4 hundos and 0 shundo
bimgus5808
Hundos are close to mainline modern shiny odds iirc. Very rare.
g_pelly
Just play a lot. It took me 5 years to even get my first shundo, then had dumb look during gible comm day.
But also, I’ve done over 5000 legendary raids and nearly that many normal raids. With those numbers, hundos are bound to come up.
Evening_Bat_3633
Some are just lucky, many simply put in a lot of time/effort and do a lot of trades and a few simply just “know where to look”.
BurnOutBrighter6
This sub has like 50,000 people. If you see 10 people post hundos, remember that’s 10/50,000 not “everybody getting one”. It’s everybody *that chooses to post here* getting one. Big difference.
Puzzleheaded-Bad1571
There are millions of players lol
DarkPhoenix679
It is the heart of the cards also it is RNG based by luck
SoupahCereal
Just got level 38 yesterday. Been playing 8 months in a week or two. Haven’t gotten either but I’ve had some pretty close. I imagine I will never see one.
RPGGamer042
Amazing things are possible when you sacrifice enough virgins to the right god… I mean, I’d rather not discuss my process.
BoundingBorder
Survivorship bias or something like that. Like others said, most people don’t post unless they get lucky. It’s pretty rare and what you see on the sub doesn’t necessarily reflect the actual frequency. I did 14 Garchomp raids and miraculously got 2 shinies. That was insane luck. No hundos, and the majority were 2 stars. For mega salamence I did over 60 raids with no shiny or hundo. For Genesect burn drive I did around 40 and got my first ever raid hundo (out of every raid type I’ve done). No shiny. I got a shiny on the first Genesect douse drive raid I did. Totally rng.
Radiant-Data-4222
Simple! I don’t

Gallen570
I only caught 2 yesterday and both suck lol
Hypercane_
I felt the same way when I was farming raikou, yes farming I caught 10 2 stars before I caught a 3 star which just so happened to be shiny
JakeVolcano
I’ve been getting lucky on research

Mstaffo123
Have 9 of each of these from recent raids. Only a couple 3 stars but no hundos or shinys
SabreeTD
I’ve gotten half of my hundos from the wild 🥲
ooojaeger
Because it’s not 10 people with 10 chances each
It’s a million people and some of them have had 50 chances.
If it was your local Pokemon group and you saw this much. Be concerned. But it’s the Internet
crsitain
By doing more than 1 raid of each.
Super-Lychee3681
I have caught 50000 pokemon and have only got 39 hundos and one shundo

Raids, research, and eggs give you much better stats and odds for a hundo. Take advantage of those as much as you can, and you’ll find yourself starting to build a collection.

It’s not actually that hard to get hundos, it’s about changing your play style habits, mindset. Time, effort luck. you can increase your odds dramatically if you focus on methods. 1. Research quests – make an effort to do as many as possible daily. Odds are roughly 1:125. I only do quests that reward encounters and i try to trash any quest that takes more than a minute or so (Unless it rewards a species I’m actively hunting). 2. Rocket grunts- I can’t over state how awesome rockets are for hundo hunting, all you need is a reward that hits 13/13/13, the plus 2 purification pushes it to a hundo. I’ve found that my odds are roughly 1:125 for a purified, sometimes I get a dry spell that makes me doubt, but it almost always Rubberbands back to somewhere around 125. 3.eggs only if you buy incubators. 4. Raids are my least favorite way to hunt as I’ve had the worse luck…however the rewards are better… pay hundos. 5. Wild is pure luck 90% of the time right place and such. Time playing improves your odds but luck is still in play. 5a.Companion app- If you use Calcy it’s programed with cp strings and shows you a window of possible ivs. 5b. Friends, campfire , discord. Callouts go a long way. 90% of my time playing is less wild catching more questing/rocket grunts. I average 1-2 hundos a week depending on how much time I play. I just recently went out of town for 6 weeks, in that time I played in shelby nc (bad spawns, few stops) aiken sc (bad spawns, decent downtown) and ladson sc.( bad spawns, but decent pockets of play), in the 6 weeks I still managed to pull 10 hundos. 7 quest, 1 rocket, 2 wild.
andi_hens
Dumb luck and either high density or spending a lot of coins on extra passes. My local team did 3. One person got a shundo, I got a bunch of low 3 stars and no shinies. It happens
Scottish-bam85
I’ve done 4 virizion raids today and 5 garchomp raids, not one shiny or hundo 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️😥😥
HanburgerBun_
I don’t have any hundos, and only a few 2 star shinies. I am so jealous of people who have so many sparkly hundos
ZaccOfJupiter
I mostly lurk because I think I have pretty bad luck in the game. Day one player and I play nearly daily, I’ll say I take about a week a year off. I play every community day and every event except for the location exclusive ones and buy all the tickets. I have 24 hundos. The first couple (few?) years didn’t have Pokemon grading but I used CalcyIV. At that rate I catch less than four hundos a year.
