The best Ottawa Pokemon Go Youtuber….is Poke Daxi but I am here too
This channel is where you come if you want ideas for:
Great League Teams
Ultra League Teams
Master League Teams
Beyond the Hype. I created this series as there is a lot of click bait and false impressions of pokemon and I want to give you a real in depth analysis of whether a pokemon is worth spending dust and candies on.
Pokemon GO has just announced the Adventures Abound season featuring the pokemon found in the Paldea Region. This season of GO Battle League features a significant move updates includes nerfs, buffs, and new moves. In total it came with over 150 move updates.
This ultra league team is charizard, tapu fini and snorlax. The team did not do amazing as snorlax is quite weak in the current meta because its stat product plus moveset is not conducive to the XL and legendary league that is ultra league.

We need premier back in rotation. Pretty stale meta
Haha snorlax couldn’t pull his own weight.. good one lol
This video feels like vindication. I tried hard to use Snorlax as a safe swap because I'm a newer player and don't have a great collection. I felt so shitty. Felt like I must suck cuz snorlax always lost the midgame. This feels good. Thank you Dan, as always!
Bro finish a sentence! Lol
At 16:37 if you undercharged they had a move loaded, so that wouldn’t have saved you… ultra league is rough
you complaining about snorlaxes bulk but your using a shadow with only 4 HP. Of course your snorlax is using shadow, you're actively working against the thing that brings it bulk by using the shadow and having a low HP stat.
i don't see a problem with ultra league, it's actually my favorite league. it's a more condensed meta, sure, but not as narrow as master or some special cups and not as big or unpredictable as great league can be sometimes. matches tend to be long, but at least you don't get one shot by some glass cannons out of nowhere like greninja as in great league, but ofc that means that bulkier pokemon like regi, cress, steelix or giratina have some advantage. i also have a lot of fun playing with level 50 great league pokemon as spice picks, so that allows me to play with some hundo pokemon that otherwise would remain useless in my bag, like lanturn, whimsicott, noctowl… actually last season lanturn used to break a lot of charizard-goli/jelli/tapu or walrein cores. don't know, maybe not a league for everyone but i wouldn't change much of it.
Wait so we’re mad a mon that doesn’t work.. doesn’t work lol
I noticed this about the top ranked ultra league list. I've only ever played great league, but now that I have great IV (top 50) pokemon of nearly all of the like top 150 ranked great league pokemon, I was thinking about building up pokemon and trying ultra league. But then I noticed that just in the top 20, nearly all were legendaries that you have to wait forever to get, or XL pokemon that cost a lot to power up. So I'm deterred from trying ultra league now and will just stick with great league.
Greedent and Dubwool just outclass it as a normal type. I definitely miss the healthier mix we had in the premier cups. I hit legend with a Bouffalant one season and that is simply never happening again
Do you think with a higher stamina stat would help you survive the gfisk encounter?
8:30 it’s not a precise one-to-one correlation, but I play the main series a lot. First you think: Snorlax vs Stunfisk, Snorlax easily wins that! Now what if I told you the Snorlax is level 29 and the Stunfisk is level 51? I don’t care if Snorlax is an OG and Stunfisk is a joke, Snorlax isn’t overcoming a 20+ level difference to win that fight.
That’s the issue of Defense/Stamina weighted XL mons in the GL and UL, it allows them to reach much higher levels before they hit the CP cap for the league. CP scales with Attack but scales with the square root of Defense and HP, so Attack-weighted Pokémon are simply gutted in everything except Master League, because they’re stuck in the 30s and sometimes even 20s, while these XL mons are way up in the high 40s and take full advantage of their base stat totals.
Ironically I like UL better than GL after XLs came out since the GL meta has less variety nowadays because of XLs
Premier is no legendary, mythical, etc. XL would still be there. no XL was classic but they have said that isn't ever coming back
i run this team sometimes with either s. snorlax or registeel as the safeswap depending if im seeing a lot of ghosts (giratina, jellicient) but generally steel is way better. was bummed when i finally got my s. snorlax UL ready and it just wasnt great

You've inadvertently come up with a great cup idea: Ordinary Cup. !@special&!legendary&!mythical 😂
I haven’t played UL in 2 seasons it’s just not my jazz
I totally hear you on how problematic XL is, but I've been somewhat encouraged that most UL legendaries do not need to have premium bulk IVs to perform very well. Cress, Giratina, and the sacred swords can do very well with raid floor IVs (and there's a good argument that the attack weight is objectively better on the sacred swords). New players will still struggle to acquire the resources to build many legendaries, but I feel like they've done a pretty good job trying to throw the top meta UL legends into rotation each year so that if you're able to participate in a raid hour there's a good chance you can build a couple legends with rare candies. Obviously rural players get shafted there, but honestly that's a game-wide critique and not exclusive to GBL
Man I miss premier classic so much, by far my favorite mode. Had a really fun team, but I don’t think I’ll ever be able to use it again
You don't always need XL. Some non-XL (high IV) pokemon will do as well against the top meta as the XL (PVP IV) version (for example, Heliolisk)
Why do you think Clodsire got nerfed before being released? Can't have a pokemon so cheap to compete with top XL and legendaries.
Where did my comment go?
If the meta stays the same as years ago there is no incentive to hunt Pokémon and GBL would get boring. Meta changes are a necessary part of the game. Really tired of people complaining about having to play the game to do well.
Kinda funny because the card game has gone through the same the last decade….power creep.
They should bring back UL Classic because the meta is a bit different and the level floor helps restrain the nutty bulk boys. I like XL UL existing because it made a lot of Pokémon viable there at least experimentally that weren’t before but at the same time it also made lots of Pokémon kinda unusably bad since they just fall too far behind in stat product.
Honestly I'd like if this game to did the SMOGON rules approach where Pokemon are tiered by usage/strength so we can get cups that don’t keep in so much of the standard meta. Eg you have Ubers, Overused, Underused, etc and for me that's what made the competitive so vibrant in those mainline games (along with additional depth from abilities and held items too).
Side note I think it would be cool for them to add the tournament style “Bring 6, See opponents 6, Choose 3” for high end ladder play. That alone would add a nice layer of depth. Not saying it’s how it should work at the low end as it would make matches take longer but it’s a nice little way to add more decision making and depth to competitive.
Imo it does suck how Pokémon like Registeel/Verizion/Cresselia/Stunfisk (etc) are such unrestrained powerhouses you basically have to build an answer in or you just kinda lose. Too much of winning is “Playing the S-Tier XL Meta” rather than skill or creative team building seems to me. I just want to play my Feraligatr team man 🙁 *plz Niantic give Feraligatr Super Power, he’s my boy
