This is getting more complicated.
The devs are claiming an unnamed 3rd party stepped in and blocked them from releasing the dlc. The only party capable of doing that would be EA/BioWare, and at that point there is nothing the devs could do.
This might not actually be a case in favor of the fans, the devs might not actually be in the wrong, they just promised something that they couldn’t deliver due to legal reasons. If they had come out and said that, then this whole thing might never have happened.
I saw this coming when they announced we get force unleashed free. That’s why when you want to sue someone over damages never accept their gifts because the courts will look at that as fair compensation on behalf of you accepting said gift.
I want to know how Aspyr keeps getting contracts when they continually do crappy work. Are they the cheapest game in town? I hope to god Firaxis drops them for Civ VII.
