Nice i had to force myself to spin stops whenever i hatched an egg because sometimes i would open a gift from a friend and it would be a 7km egg or whatever that lost my chance at getting the 5km. I hatched one pichu with hat and left him to defend a gym soon after haha.
Make sure not to evolve though as baby pokemon can only be hatched and shiny baby pokemon are therefore much rarer.
There’s also Smoochum from 5k eggs
