Beyond the Hype. I created this series as there is a lot of click bait and false impressions of pokemon and I want to give you a real in depth analysis of whether a pokemon is worth spending dust and candies on.
Pokemon GO has just announced the Adventures Abound season featuring the pokemon found in the Paldea Region. This season of GO Battle League features a significant move updates includes nerfs, buffs, and new moves. In total it came with over 150 move updates.
With all these move updates, this video will focus on pokemon that received a significant buff for this upcoming season of GO Battle League either through moves specifically being buffed or access to new moves.
This week it is catch cup. Only pokemon that have been caught during the Adventures Abound season are able to participate in this league. Here are some top teams for catch cup.

I love the first few days of Catch cup just random teams having fun no sweating just yet
I caught rank 2 Jellicant yesterday, so I am sure I will be playing that. I also FINALLY have decent Sableye with Return on it, last thing I need to do is trade remaining 150 Sableyes for XL candy once I travel 100km away
Catch cup is basically Open Great league with age limit
I finally bit the bullet and decide to throw some rare candy and an elite TM into Registeel. I don’t normally like running those types of mons but the metas been pretty rough lately. Good news is I ran some sims and apparently Registeel’s maybe the best third for my favorite core of Swampert/Emolga.
Getting keen for a lanturn, shadow aslash medi or serperior
I luckily caught a bunch of shadows and tm away frustration. I got # 2 and #3 sandslash. Got A-nintales etc
This gives me an excuse to power up my #2 and 3 sandslashs
Not sure about Swampert’s availability, but Quag can perform a similar role (and may be good with all the Lanturn/Clodsire/Steelix/Gligar about)
Yo i powered up a 13/15/15 steelix for ultra league. I really didn’t feel like waiting potentially a year to get enough xls. Do you think its a mistake? Or is it good having at least be able to use one until you get enough xls. I got like top 10 shadows. Wayyy too much xl
I caught a rank 3 shadow Basti (Shieldon) during the rocket event and I’m contemplating whether or not I should build it. Yay or nay?
i think i'm gonna try running jellicent/galar stunfisk/shadow gligar, kind of ABB ish, hoping i can still draw out some alolan sandslash with the stunfisk.
In other words, do all your battles for the day before the leagues turn over.

I’ve been planning on building around a really good shadow ANinetails but I just realized I caught it 90 days ago!
Another good way to search is to just tag all your good mons as you catch them throughout the season as "catch cup." This limits you to the mons you'd actually care to play with, the age 0 to whatever is good enough but going through all of them to find decent ones is a chore

Thank god for the new event coming up that XL candy will come very handy! I have been storing mons like crazy from Onix, Sableye ( for potential shadow) Vulpix, Stunfish, Licktng… man I am doing 100 a day! Lol

Fortunately I'm a player who started playing PoGo this season, thus all my meta mons are available to me. Would it be safe to assume that my best meta mons will hold their own to the randomness of this cup or should I be teching mons to combat that this odd bracket?

Im currently running:
Pelipper, Steelix, Serperior on 1 team
And Clodsire, lanturn, Pelipper on another. Working fine so far but waiting to start matching with hard counters
so far what ive been playin i did my 50 battles (elo is ~2300) and i run coffigrius 0/10/14 s. claw/s. ball/psychic on lead it deals very well with clodsires that are everywere also as you said destroys medi and can play againts basicaly anythin (such as lanturn) except if you get caught in a switch with a greedent or lickitung or umbreon also have charizard in there 0/15/13 wing attack/ blast burn/ dragon clawit kind a just covers the trvenants and stuff even more because cof has basicaly a neutral match up with it it can also deal with medi and if you manage to save shields for it, it can boom steelix or saybleye or even greedent, and as safe swap i have clodsire 0/14/15 poison sting/ sludge bomb/ eq just because of its insane bulk it can deal with spark lanturns decently but if they have water gun lanturn try to force a cof matchup and make sure you win switch with it otherwise it worked decently well i think i went something like 40w-10l or 35w/15l

I have a Question i caught Shadow Charmander recently with frustration if i evolve it in community day dec is there any chance that i get the blast burn and wing attack fast move? Or i need to unlock his 2nd charge attack first and then evolve it in December community day to get blast burn in 2nd charge skill slot.
