    You do not get to judge, you lost against an NPC trainer.

    I think he’s just trying to lift your spirits. Yes, you lost, but the battle was probably close. That, or he sees you worked really hard. Better this than what the GO Rocket admins say when you lose.

    I think it’s fine to say something inspirational like that when you go through the whole battle and lose. Candella calls it an epic battle when I back out immediately.

    worse part is he says it right after your opponent usually mocks you for losing so it looks even more like he’s talking to your opponent and not to you lmao

    I think you’re forgetting that Pokémon is for all ages. Just because the message is whatever to you, doesn’t mean it’s gonna be whatever to a kid. Losing sucks, but a kid should learn that there are lessons to learn even when losing. After the message, he gives advice on what Pokémon is strong against the Pokémon you fought
