It still looks quite impressive for the Nintendo Switch. I already own all the games on PC, but I’ll be picking this up again just so I can play in bed / on the couch while binging Netflix.

It looks good. It runs good. Not perfectly but well. Can’t wait to play it.

The batmobile performance seems a bit downplayed considering how prevalent it becomes later on in the story. I’m skipping this one, I hope they sell the other games outside the bundle.

Um is it just me or is this guy being way too harsh on the graphics…? like to me, it looks amazing? maybe i’m not used to modern ps5 games cause i still use my ps4 and switch all the time? but when he was saying shit like batman looks rough or the city looks bad, i honestly was confused what the fuck he was talking about?
tuxedo_dantendo
Are all the games actually on the cartridge or does it require downloading like the MGS Collection?

Reminder that when game is described as a ‘miracle port’, ‘impressive port considering the hardware’ or something similar it just means you will get subpar experience compared to other platforms.

I’ve brought 2 kids into the world since playing these. Switch handheld is about the only gaming I can do now. I’ll happily sacrifice performance just to replay these.
Fauxlaroid
Hard to believe people are saying this looks good. It looks absolutely awful and I can’t believe they’re putting it out in this state.
That Batmobile driving performance, shameful.
Writhing
Exactly as I expected – huge frame drops and 10 fps in Bat Mobile sections. The Switch hardware simply isn’t powerful enough.
Howwy23
So buy the first 2 games and skip the 3rd.

Oooof that Batmobile footage at 7:40 is rough. I’d buy Arkham Asylum standalone but Arkham Knight looks a stretch too far for the Switch.
ItalianSpaceman
Yeah this looks rough, great games but there’s better ways to play them, even portable

TLDW?
TTTri-cell
Anyone know if they’re available to buy separately or have you got to get the trilogy? I only really wanted Arkham City tbh.
aml1525
I was hoping they would just remove the Batmobile sections. Would save data and help the fps while taking away an annoying part of the game
Healingvizion
I’m so excited they pulled this off. With persona 5 royal and the tomb raider trilogy coming up. The biggest games I wish and hope get ported next to switch are the new tomb raider trilogy, fallout 3 and new vegas, the witness, yakuza series, and dark souls 2 n 3

Hogwarts Legacy looks and runs better than this. Let that sink in

No way in hell they can optimize the batmobile part even with subsequent patches. Even the strongest PC specs back when AK came out struggle with framerate issues and stutters.

I was reading the Twitter comments for this game and people were saying it was basically unplayable and some guy said he’s going to throw his switch in the trash because it’s a useless system.
Man those people are miserable assholes.

How do these games hold up on a QOL / Design perspective? Have they aged well? I find the first bioshock, for instance, tough to play by today’s standards.
WellExcuuuuuuuseMe
Which firmware is required to play this game? 17.0?
TheCrach
The bat signal texture is just straight up hilarious.
rob_s_one
Has anyone bought Asylum? Tempted to just hit the nostalgia with this one but performance concerns me especially with the fast paced combat… not that you bother doing much of that when you can hang the enemies from gargoyles….

I feel like the people who whine about the port, are exactly the ones who aren’t buying it. I find it bizarre that these people almost seem gleeful about it… It’s very sad and weird that something like this gets them off.
I greatly prefer Switch ports simply due to the portability and ease of use (sleep mode and such). It’s our only console right now as well, since we mostly like the classic Nintendo games for the whole family anyway. And when I travel for work, I absolutely love to just bring the Switch along and play it in the hotel.
The first two games will run just fine. Some stutter in AK is to be expected. I’m just happy I’ll be able to play through the trilogy over the coming year. Only played City in the past.
In the old days, framerate on the N64 was sometimes between 15-20. I don’t really care that much. Jurassic World Evolution has tremendous stutter when you expand the park, and the graphics are very blurry. Yet the menus look fine and the game itself is perfectly playable. Clocked in like 150 hours on that one over the last two years. If you have an expensive PC, a PS5 or a Series X, and if you’re at home a lot, then sure, you can play it on that with better graphics. Then the Switch version isn’t for you… So why are you even watching videos of it on Switch.

Even by Nintendo switch standards this is pretty bad.

I don’t understand those who say the game looks good. The gaming experience with the Batmobile is completely ruined because of the framerate.
