Yikes – I always check digital foundry before getting a port. Their Hogwarts legacy vid was spot on and I bought it because of their recommendation. Looks like I won’t be picking up this trilogy now
I kind of saw this coming for Arkham Knight. If the batmobile sections were too much they’d have put Origins in the package instead.
Personally I’m more interested in only picking Arkham Asylum. It’s like one of the few great 3D Metroidvanias that exist and my favorite Batman game.
Remember guys: with Switch ports, visuals is not the problem. Hogwarts Legacy is actually a recommended port on Switch. Looks like ass, but it’s fun to play. Why? Cause it runs well.
The problem here with Arkham Knight is the FRAMERATE. You can get used to blurry textures, your brain even stops noticing them after a while. You cannot get used to choppy/tanky framerate. It ruins the gameplay experience.
This is how bad the port is on Switch. Arkham asylum is a constant stutterfest. Even the sound cuts out. What is this. Just recorded this now:

So wait can I buy the games separately or do I have to buy the whole collection?
hey i have heard this one before… same game too!
WB: how can we get more money with the least amount of work?

real talk, WB is the new EA, please think twice before supporting them (MK1 is 100% the last game ill get from them, nothing but greed)
Is there a lore reason why Warner thought Arkham Knight would run well on the Switch? Are they stupid?
If I had a nickel for every time Arkham Knight had a bad port, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice.
Wait, let me get this straight:
Knight runs horribly, which everybody and their uncle knew was going to happen. But Asylum and City too?
What did we expect. The PC version was a nightmare at launch, of course the switch version sucks.
Bummer though.
It already sucked on PC at release. People just really love to forget
I’m honestly convinced that they included Arkham Knight only because they want to sell this at $60. I’ve seen plenty of people excited to get this of Asylum and City alone. I could say that they could’ve just put these games separately for $20 a pop, but they probably thought it wouldn’t make them enough money and we could forget about a physical release… Not like it matters, since you still have to download City and Knight afaik.
I want to hear about Asylum and City
I expected Knight to be a bit of a dumpster-fire.
It ran like shit when it came out. It runs like shit now. Ahh, how time stays the exactly the same
Ouch, looks like they had a non-negotiable deadline for 2023.
If you can’t port a game exactly or better than it was on its original console release, don’t bother making the game.
People forget the Switch is slightly better than an Xbox 360, but not as good as a launch model Xbox One.
They tried porting a game that was rather demanding of hardware when it released in 2015 on a system that is basically an Android tablet with [an APU first released in, yep, 2015](https://www.pcmag.com/news/nintendo-switch-uses-a-standard-tegra-x1-processor).
An Arkham Collection for Switch is a great idea in theory, but WB should’ve waited until the next Switch, which by all accounts should be available in 2024, rather than subjecting *Arkham Knight* to yet another troubled launch. AK is a great game (albeit with a rather shit story — they shouldn’t have replaced the actual, bona fide writers of the previous *Arkham* titles with a script written by in-house devs), and it sucks that it’s been plagued by a series of rough launches plagued by technical problems.
I’m getting an odd deda vu about this…..
Why do I feel like they just ported the return to arkham remastered editions from xbox one/ps4 versions and just downgraded the graphics without fixing the issues of return to arkham versions
This should really come as no surprise to anyone that remembers the original release and how the game was never fully fixed.
PC gamers: “First time?”
Blows my mind these devs can still charge full price on nerfed switch ports that run like utter shit
Edit: don’t know where the downvotes come from? The game runs like shit lol
It’s a throwback game when each system would get a different port. You got better graphics with Mortal Kombat on the SNES but no blood.
I mean Arkham Knight barely ran on ps4 when it came out and was unplayable on pc
PC gamers: “First time?”
Can’t wait for the game to never be updated, yet again.
If I had a nickel for every time an Arkham Knight port was unacceptably bad, I’d have two nickels
Poor Oliver just can’t catch a break lately. Give the man something positive to report for God’s sake!!
Nearly a decade later and Arkham Knight is still making headlines for releasing in an unplayable state. If anyone wants to try out this game it’s actually really good, but you’ll have to stick to either the PC or PS4/PS5 versions. The Arkham trilogy is currently on sale on the playstation store for 6 bucks.
I bought the trilogy. Tried this. Holy shit it’s terrible. It straight up freezes whenever the tank does anything beyond just driving (driving stutters immensely). Legit gave me eye strain
The first two are much better
