Can someone explain why this is necessary? Just to prevent spoilers?

There’s always a few hundred assholes out there that will purposely spoil the game now that this statement has come out

huh, I wouldn’t have thought DQM would be that spoiler heavy

I remember playing Dragon Quest 11 and somehow people went out of their way to avoid using some terms in walkthroughs and images in thumbnails. By the time I stumbled on some big spoiler content, I had just reached it. My recommendation is to clear any youtube history of you searching or viewing this game, even trailers.

Guess I’ll do so right now in case I ever want to play this game 😛

And here I thought they would adress the performance issues… oh well

Best way to prevent spoilers is to help prevent people from buying the game to begin with. Which they are doing a damn good job with.

Maybe next time they can release enough copies so people can actual play the game.

The sentiment is nice but I don’t think it’ll change the mind of the type of person who would purposefully spoil endgame stuff in an RPG.

Some assholes just like to stink.

I’ve barely heard about this game but now I want to play it to see what’s secrets it’s holding. It’s like Pokémon, right?

Honestly this is pretty standard-issue for Sqex. They are fine with people talking about, posting from, and streaming their games UNTIL the end of the game. It’s honestly pretty weird, and they’ve even gotten DMCA takedowns on things like YouTube from people playing the ends of certain games within the first few months of release. Most recently I remember this sort of thing with FF7 Remake, but I’m aware of it happening before and after that game as well.

I’m generally anti-spoiler, but telling people they shouldn’t talk about how a a game (that came out in 2023) ends until 2025 is pretty crazy.
