Beyond the Hype. I created this series as there is a lot of click bait and false impressions of pokemon and I want to give you a real in depth analysis of whether a pokemon is worth spending dust and candies on.

The new season of Timeless Travel has been announced with buffs to pokemon like talonflame, toxicroak, and azumarill and nerfs to steelix breaking swipe and medicham. Here is a full analysis of the new buffs, nerfs, and pokemon with new moves.

Talonflame got a huge incinerate buff from 15 to 20 damage. It also has access to fly a hard hitting quicker flying move. This is a huge upgrade for this pokemon, however, issues remain with its 5 turn fast move.

  1. I love seeing Talonflames with my current lineup…

Dan, how would you rate my current team, I am doing very well so far:
    Pelipper (Lead)
    Lickitung (Safe swap)
    Lanturn (counter/finisher)

I feel running 2 water but with different weakness if efficient.
(I know I risk seeing my own team if you mention it 😅 )

  2. Ive been trying to use talonflame since last season. Im glad i can use him now. What ive been doing is having:
    Lanturn in the lead
And poliwrath and talonflame in the back

  3. Sir could u please link the optimum charge move timing management tutorial video in here or make one like how to count and memories those fast turns to not give opponents extra moves… Would love if u could make a new video or share older one..as I'm unable to count

  4. well, I had been playing Retro Cup! am I have to say having Artibax in the front is crazy! I already took 3 teams with Talonflame! LOL great League is getting crazy I can only imagen the Ultra league with more bulk to play around with!

  5. Tips for teams involving talonflame, anyone? Preferably also using at least one of the following:

Quag, azu, altaria, medi, lanturn, sableye, a-slash, swampert, bastiodon, poliwrath

  6. Totally unrelated but I’m running a team kinda similar to this team but skele serperior and carbink and running through teams 17-3 today skele lead

  7. I’ve been crushing with triple water with three different sub-typings… Toxapex, Spark Lanturn, and Shadow Swampert.

  8. Great video, Dan. I've been running double water to combat the incinerate hype specifically and am currently hovering around a 70% win rate after day two. Talonflame is definitely present in my games but also Skeledirge has been even more frequent since catch cup (an odd A.Marowak as well). Protect yourself from the flames out there guys. Remember to moisturise!

  9. Would love to see you review magcargo with the new incinerate. He’s an absolute menace on the lead for me against both talonflame and skarmory. Ran Cradily safe swap and Lanturn in the back.

  10. Dan, thanks for the video as always. I have been running a similar line-up (Talonflame as the lead with Licktung and Clodsire) and I have been getting some really good results (17-3)

What I love about this line-up is that both Licktung and Clodsire are super tanky so they can take a lot of damage for Talonflame if I lose my lead and have to switch. Although this lineup is somehow weak to water, running Talonflame with Fly and Clodsire with Poison Sting definitely helped me win certain matches against Azumaril.

There was one match in which my Talonflame rekt the opponent's whole team without switching, it was so satisfying.

I would love to hear your insights on Talonflame's potential in Ultra League now and how to build a team around it soon!

    Thanks again, Dan!

  11. Not all heroes wear capes.

The best part of a new season isn't meta shakeups. It's not move updates, events, or bonuses. It's Dan being ready to hop into the fray, and rescue us from all the hype.

As always, thanks for the work you do putting these together 🤙

  12. Thank man! I'm currently running talonflame in the back with lanturn and vig as the SS. It's been a really solid team so far, and talonflame as a closer does really well even without brave bird. I might consider running BB eventually, but so far so good lol
