I live in a rural area. I go to the next town over take over all the red gyms. Turn them blue and leave galarian mr mime in all of them then leave town. 😂

I put in something shiny or costume pokemon in gyms. One time we(random people) made a shiny eevee gym.
The Adamant Time event seem to be waste of Time event. Nothing is too excited in this event. Increase shiny rate going to be 1/125 odds. Those pokemon during this event players already caught a lot because already introduced since Pokemon Go was debut.

I usually put my rarest one. During holidays I put those pokemons for the holiday. Ghost for Halloween, Santa hat pokemon for christmas…you get the point.
Answering your question early in the video:
My default gym-defense Pokémon is a shiny Porygon-Z I evolved from its Community Day ages ago. It’s nearly 3000CP just via evolution, so I guess it stuck out due to being high on my list constantly & ended up filling that role.

I have a select group of rare shiny Pokémon (i.e. Shiny 5 year anniversary Pika with balloons) with low CP that I put in gyms. Low CP so they decay slower
