i need to understand how route acceptance work

I only have two routes created, the first one I created today and it got accepted immediately, while the second route I’ve created a long time ago and it’s still under review.. can someone explain why it can take so long to accept the route? I saw so many non-logical routes got accepted.. why oh why

If you check the map the second route is crossing a main road on the top right and enters a residential area too, so it’s more likely to be forced into manual review.

Routes that stay in green areas, don’t cross any main roads and stay within the boundaries of the “safe” tagged areas in Open Street Maps are more likely to be approved automatically.

There’s also some S2 cell borders and other conditions that might trigger red flag and forces the manual review, so it’s not an exact science. It depends on the map data, the general area, the route name, description and possibly previous reports of other routes.

Basically if the automated system doesn’t detect any probable issues the route is approved automatically, but if it detects anything that might cause trouble you’re sent to the waiting queues and those can take months depending on the priority and number of people reviewing your area.
